Southampton port...................

If you will not have a car with you, check out possibilities on Google Maps. Google Maps now give you a walking directions option. I know that there is a Tesco about 15/20 minutes walk from the Grand Harbour hotel. I am planning to walk there to buy flowers to take on board later this year. There may be something suitable closer if that is too far.

The Tesco is a home store, there is a Marks And Spencer is west quay shopping centre right by the Grand Harbour which sells flowers and wines.

Hope this helps.

Any good restaurants around Quay west for an evening meal ? We are staying at the holiday inn.

Project girl,

We always go for a walk around. We sail at the beginning of August. I'll look out for flower shops if you like.

A previous CC poster mentioned IKEA with the restaurant overlooking the port.

Personally, try Quay 15 at least once, preferably the first night of your stay so you are able to go again prior to sailing.

Hi welsh family

Grand Cafe is very short walk from your hotel and is a nice place to have food, also Oxford street has a few good restaurants and pubs this is also a short walk too from your hotel.

I think I am on the same cruise, we are on the Celebrity Eclipse at the beginning of August too.

Did not even realise that Tesco had Home Stores! Thanks that would have been a long walk just to discover that. M&S sounds like a good idea. We were planning to look round the shopping centre.

That would be great if it does not put you out, thanks! We started doing this sailing from Fort Lauderdale. There is a Publix right behind the hotel we use and we get great, inexpensive bunches of flower there that last almost the whole cruise. An armful of flowers is a great ice-breaker at embarkation.

there is also an ASDA store close by

Another great suggestion! We will spoilt for choice.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions.

Would the Tesco store be a reasonably priced store to buy a new pillow for the cruise? I'm fussy about my pillow so I like to buy a new one or take my own. Traveling from the U.S. I don't want to be carrying a pillow on the flights.

I'd be interested in a place to get some fresh flowers, too.
