Brian V Posted February 3 #651 Share Posted February 3 Ship - Getaway Deck - 8 Stateroom # - 8116 Stateroom Category – M6 Club Balcony with larger balcony Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Most of the time, very quiet. As you are above crew space that is used when docking the ship it gets rather noisy early on a port day. As long as you don't want to sleep in, not an issue. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Excellent views from the railing, bit of tunnel effect from inside due to the depth of the balcony. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Huge balcony...2 chairs, 2 loungers, and a table large enough to eat dinner off of :). Only drawback is that you stick out farther than the balconies above so sacrifice some privacy. Was wind a problem? - No problems except when in 50+ knot winds near Bermuda...going to say everyone on the portside was staying indoors 🙂 If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - It is a hike to the elevator / stairs, only 4 doors from the very front of the cabins on 8. For someone with mobility issues it could be a problem. Any other comments? - Love, love, LOVE the big jetted shower and larger overall bathroom. Would book this cabin again.

Ellis1138 Posted March 3 #654 Share Posted March 3 Ship - Pride of America Deck - 9 Stateroom # - 9622 Stateroom Category – BB Starboard or Port Side - Port Aft Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – The walls are thin and we often heard people as they walked down the corridor. We also had noisy neighbors, so it was noisy for us. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Full view balcony. 2 chairs, 2 ottomans, a little table. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal Was wind a problem? - There was a slight whistling sound but nothing that disturbed us. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - I have fragrance sensitivities and the bathroom had an odd, artificial odor to it, like an air freshener. Any other comments? - All the fixtures and outlets worked while we were there. A majority of the walls were magnetic and we used hooks for “quick drop/grab” items. I found the most efficient way to power the two CPAP machines was to run a 10 foot extension with a 3-outlet splitter at the end from the corner cubby and along the bed by the bathroom wall, then to run one of the CPAP power cords along the “headboard” of the beds. (With comments on problems) – Yes, mostly. We heard chairs being dragged around as late as 11pm and as early as 6:30am. The rooms are located above The Cellars/Ocean Blue, so we weren't expecting much noise. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – There is a solid overhang covering the waterfront on deck 8 that you will see when looking down, but I wouldn't call it an obstruction. It does prevent anyone from being able to look into your balcony from below. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - No Any other comments? - Both rooms have the beds near the balcony and have tub showers. (With comments on problems) – The cabin was great. I didn’t notice any uncommon noises from the hallway or above. We were only three doors off the elevator bays, so that was pretty awesome Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – the balcony view was wonderful. no obstructions, shaded from the balconies above Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal size Was wind a problem? - no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -Not applicable Any specific problems with this cabin? - Looking at the bed the USB port in the lamp on the left did not work. We forgot to report it Any other comments? - my favorite attribute of this room was that it was very close to the elevator bays, but not close enough to be noisy. Mid ship elevators so you’re always halfway to your room. Did you know that they store extra sheets and towels under the couch? I never would’ve thought to look there! Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Excellent views from the railing especially forward and straight out. Aft view was somewhat obstructed by the slide but it didn't bother us/ Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Huge balcony...2 chairs, 2 loungers, and a small table. Nice privacy nook at bedroom door where the loungers were located. Was wind a problem? - None other than the expected breeze while underway. Any other comments? - Would book this cabin again. Concierge and Butler were great. Bed was very comfy. Love the two thermostats for the two rooms. stinkyharriet Posted May 12 #664 Share Posted May 12 (edited) Ship - Joy Deck - 5 Stateroom # - 5111 Stateroom Category – IT Solo Interior Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Overall, Yes. I was out of my stateroom past midnight all days except the last. On that last day, in my cabin by 8:30pm, I could hear some noise from the theater. I had a small USB fan plus I also play videos on my iPad to fall asleep to so the theater noise did not bother me. If you are early to bed and/or in your cabin when there are things going on in the theater this might not be the cabin for you. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal. Newly classified as a solo cabin so more than enough for one person. Any other comments? - Interior cabin on the main hallway so it was easy to find. Not a very long walk from the stairs. I would book this cabin again. Edited May 12 by stinkyharriet spelling correction

KforKitty Posted June 22 #667 Share Posted June 22 Ship Star Deck - 12 Stateroom # - 12010 Stateroom Category – SC Family Suite with Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, other than the occasional pounding from runners on Deck 13. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - n/a Balcony View - Good, covered by deck above Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Small for a suite but this is one of only four cabins that has a balcony on this deck. The other half, of what could be a balcony is the inside sitting area with floor to ceiling windows. As we were on a cold weather cruise I really appreciated the sitting area with the large picture windows - best of both worlds Was wind a problem? - no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - only problem with it being high deck and forward, I felt quite queasy the first few days but with patches and tablets I managed. Any other comments? - I really liked this cabin which compared favourably in size with the Celebrity Suite that we’d had on the Eclipse in January (at much less cost). The bathroom was really nice and large (double sinks, bath and separate shower) and loads of storage space. I would definitely book this category again. Slythgal Posted July 5 #671 Share Posted July 5 Ship - Sky Deck - 9 Stateroom # - 9317 Stateroom Category – IA Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Absolutely no noise whatsoever and we were on a fully-booked cruise with lots of kids. We were concerned about noise from the elevators/stairs but couldn't hear anything. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Any specific problems with this cabin? - I had a hard time remembering which way to turn when getting off the elevator because there were two banks that could easily access the cabin. But that was actually a positive for the cabin...as long as you have a good sense of orientation on the ship. Any other comments? - This cabin has a sofa and is larger than the standard interior cabin. It was 142 square feet which is just a bit shy of a balcony on the Sky. The sofa is the third bed. There are no pullmans. The combination of smooth walls and extra length to the cabin helped it feel very spacious and not claustrophobic at all. Ellis1138 Posted July 5 #672 Share Posted July 5 Ship - NCL Prima Deck - 12 Stateroom # - 12507 Stateroom Category – T1 Starboard or Port Side - Dead Center of Deck 12 Forward in the Studio Cabin area. Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – The cabin was fairly quiet, although you can hear when someone flushes the toilet or talks loudly in the corridor. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No. Any specific problems with this cabin? - The door didn’t shut firmly. I had to always pull and check it. This includes the door for entering the Studio area. This is ship-wide, but the shower drains are very slow, so water will pool on the bathroom floor. I wound up creating a “dam” out of towels. Any other comments? - The layout and space of the studio cabin was very efficient and I had more than enough storage for my stuff.
