Glory 7 dayer Vs Conquest 8 dayer

Good morning yall,

I am looking for some recommendations - I know opinions are individual based and will eventually have to make a choice but looking to see what others have to say.

My first cruise was on the Ecstasy April 2013, ports were HMC(loved); Nassau & Freeport.

The cruises I am looking at are both in May 2015:

Glory 7dayer: HMC(again); St Thomas; Puerto Rico, Grand Turk

Conquest 8dayer: St Maarten; St Kitts; Puerto Rico & Grand Turk

Looking for opinions on the boats themselves; the ports.

I am leaning towards the 7 dayer because of HMC - but that may be a little bias because I have been there already and love it.

thanks.

I loved the Glory and did the same intinerary (except it was Nassau instead of HMC when we did it) and we loved the Glory. However, the intinerary of the Conquest looks cool too. I really want to go to St. Maarten and St. Kitts.

The Glory and the Conquest are in the same class ship. The only real difference I have heard is that the Conquest does not have a Serenity Deck but I am not sure if that is important to you.

Either way- have a great cruise!

What is difference in price? 8 days better than 7.

7 day is about 559/person the 8 day was 609 a person.

I have done a bit of research on St Thomas - but having a hard time finding much on St Kitts & St Maartan. I will keep researching.

Thanks to everyone so far who has responded.

I would pick the 8 days on Conquest, because it is a day longer. I have not been on Glory, but I like Conquest. I THINK (don't quote me) Glory has the new menus and Conquest has the old ones.

HMC does sound like a slice of heaven and would be enticing, but otherwise I prefer the ports you listed for Conquest. St. Thomas was alright, but I had more fun in St. Maarten (we went with Bernard's tour). Its not that I would never go back to St. Thomas, but I am not in a hurry to go there. Never been to San Juan, Grand Turk or St. Kitts, but they are on the list of places I would like to go.

For 50 bucks for 8th day that would be my pick. St Martin has some nice beaches.

Do both ships leave from the same place? Depending on where you live, maybe one is cheaper for you to fly too (if you have to drive).

I always try to aim for ports I've never been too.

I've never been on either ship, but I have been on a few of the conquest class ships. I can't give you my opinions on the ships themselves but I assume they are basically the same.

If it were my decision, I would choose the 8-day because of that extra day to be spoiled :D.

We are booked on the Conquest for February 2015

We booked this one because it is 8 days, as well we have never been to St Maarten or St Kitts. Were in San Juan and Grand Turk on our first cruise which also included St Thomas and HMC.

Haven't looked into what we are going to do in any of the ports though (just booked this weekend!!)

Only thing better than a 7 day cruise is an 8 day cruise. Seriously the Conquest class ships are great. St Kitts is a beautiful island and we always enjoy Cockleshell Beach. Pinel Island just off of St Maarten is also a treat.

Throw in San Juan and GT and that sounds like an awesome trip........Of course sail away from St Thomas at dusk is sweet!

You cant go wrong! Enjoy!

Yes they both sail out of Miami - and with my first cruise we sailed out of Port Carnavel. So this would be a different port. We live in Florida so we would drive down the day before and stay with family.

As far as the menu goes - I only been on 1 other cruise so to have the same thing at dinner would be ok - I would stay away from the Caesar salad ate that first night at dinner and by dessert time I was so sick the mixture of food and sea and nerves got to me but I was only sick that 1 night. As these ships have a Guy's Burger and well that is what I am more interested in. Serenity deck I never found it on the Ecstasy - I was quite lost :) so would be nice to at least find it this time around lol

So far the 8 day because of an extra day of not being at work seems to be great advantage :)

Guy's Burger (and their fries) was SO delicious. I ate there 3 times during my last cruise and had to force myself to stay away. As for serenity, when you decide which ship you're booking...print out the deck plans and you'll be all set.

Go ahead and book that 8-day!!!! Happy planning!!!

All things being equal go for 8 days.:)

I took the 7 day based on the date. Should have added a 4 day beforehand with a land day in between. But a 7 day in September and a 6 day next year isnt a bad compromise.

I would take the 8 day for the obvious reason but also because it has ports you haven't been to before. Even though you love HMC you might fall in love with a different port too.

That is very true. The 8 day is also in a better date range for my close out that month, May is my year end close at work. So I am thinking the 8 day is the one to go for. Once I book I will come here to let yall know my decision. Thanks again for yalls opinions.

My first thought is to go with the 8 day for the extra day. St. Maarten is one of my favorite ports. But I'd prefer St. Thomas to St. Kitts, and I'd love to visit HMC. I really think it's 50/50 here, and you're going to have to choose based on what works best for you. But I still would prefer an 8 day to a 7 day. I love sea days. :D

yeah my first cruise only had 1 sea day - so I'd like to see what the cruise ship has to offer on more then 1 sea day. The 8 day cruise has 3 sea days. May be with that many sea days I will see more of what the ship has - my first cruise I stayed closely to the lido deck and casino though I don't gamble. Guess you can say I was a little overwhelmed:D I always seemed to get in the wrong elevators and would have to go to one floor and then switch elevators and back track. Was defiantly confused. Think I will bring the ship floor plan with me this time.
