Late departure from Barcelona Cruise Terminal

 Share

Recommended Posts

We had a flight out at something like 11pm. What we did: gave our bags to DW Consigna at the port (10 Euros/bag), took a cab to Columbus monument (about 10 euros), got on the hop-on/hop-off bus there (free wifi!), and rode the bus around for the morning/early afternoon. We got off the bus at the train station, and took the train to the airport (something like 3 Euros per person?). Then we picked up our luggage and hung out at the airport for the rest of the evening.

You could also look into the late departure program which operates in Europe. You pay a fee and can stay on the ship until the afternoon, making use of all the facilities. It's often listed under excursions or you will receive a leaflet in your cabin offering it.

Is there a waiting area for passage that have a late flight in the evening (4:00PM), Leaving out Oct 12, 2014

Not really, one of the terminals has a cafe, but limited areas to wait around in.

Can't see the late departure program being offered on Barcelona sailings this year as looking for it for our sailing too, but it maybe offered once onboard as we have used it on previous Liberty sailings out of Barcelona. However, there are city tours and airport transfers available at the end of the cruise.

If you go to Catylunya (pardon the incorrect spelling) where the aerobus stops nearby there is a luggage storage, but for the convenience I would use the one by the port as you have to pick it up again at the Catalunya storsge. This is a good option if returning via the airport bus as it is less then a block away. We used it on the way in as we landed before embarkation at 8:30 am when we arrived. The aerobus also gives discount coupons.

We wanted to use it on one of our cruises last year (can't remember which one ) and noticed it wasn't offered as an excursion before the cruise, which had been the case in the past. However, we had a leaflet in our cabin and were able to book it via that.

It may be worth asking someone on an earlier roll call to look out for it.
