RC cruiser considering Summit out of SJ for 2016. Questions..

We will be married 25yrs May 10th 2016 so I will be following this thread. Have you considered Bermuda or Europe? Celebrity traditionally repositions the ships out of the Caribbean by the end of April. The reposition cruise at the end of April may work out for you. It starts in San Juan and ends at Cape Liberty. Since the Summer 2016 itinerary isn't out yet anything can change.

That is a worthwhile option, TA and repositioning cruise are on the bucket list.

Hmmmm... We may be on to something then

I went to the CruiseTT website for April 2016 (as far they currently have info ahead on The Summit)

http://m.cruisett.com/s/Celebrity_Cruises/Celebrity_Summit/April_2016/

And the info ends at April 22nd... With The Summit in St Thomas

I would therefore "assume" that she would finish up that 1 week regular sailing the next day, April 23, 2016

And that April 23rd would be start to the Repositioning Cruise (assuming that in Spring 2016 the Summit would be returning to a Season in Bermuda)

Having looked at her past itinerary for 2014 and the one listed for 2015 (again c/o CruiseTT) you might then surmise that 2016 would look something like this:

Apr 23 (Sat) - San Juan, PR

Apr 24 (Sun) - Sint Maarten

Apr 25 (Mon) - St Thomas, USVI

Apr 26 (Tues) - Tortola, BVI (as in 2014) -or- At Sea (as planned for 2015)

Apr 27 (Wed) - At Sea

Apr 28 (Thurs) - Kings Warf, Bermuda

Apr 29 (Fri) - King's Warf, Bermuda

Apr 30 (Sat) - At Sea

May 1 (Sun) - Cape Liberty, NJ

Interesting cruise for sure...

The downside of course is it would see you back in NJ the day before your actual Anniversary.

But I would say all is not lost... I would think that spending a few days in NYC after this cruise could prove out to be quite nice before flying home to Ohio.

NYC with its nice Hotels, Restaurants, Theatre and Cultural Scene might be just the ticket for romance IMO

Hope this helps,

Cheers!

Correct Tortola to BVI not USVI

Ummm, ya I got that (although your Post # 10 was a jumbled mass with few paragraph breaks which made it hard to read)

My reply above was to the OP following his Post # 26 where he mentions a Repositiong Cruise being on his bucket list

I was elaborating on the info you gave, based on The Summit's history

Gives him a bit more info as a cruiser NEW to Celebrity to work with... Although agreed he's going to have to wait until Celebrity releases the 2016 Itineraries before he can move any further on this front

Something he'll no doubt bear in mind as he looks at other options with other cruise lines for an early May 2016 sailing

Cheers!

Thanks to everyone for sharing their X knowledge and expertise. I'm sure even if the May cruise from San Juan didn't work out, I appreciate the knowledge and the idea to look at re-positioning cruises.

To the OP,

Since you mentionned you would like a cruise somewhere warm on the day of your anniverssary... The Solstice will be sailing from Honolulu to Vancouver, 10 nights, starting April 26/2016. Aqua starts at $2299. Of course it will get cooler as you near Vancouver...

Summit is our favorite X ship, and Enchantment is our favorite RC ship. We tend to like the smaller ships. We have taken both the SJ cruise and the Bermuda cruise, and loved both. Would like to take the repositioning cruise someday.

If you like RC, you should LOVE Celebrity. NO SMOKE. Clean, fun casino. Very few announcements interrupting your day or your nap. NO SMOKE.

We were also Diamond on RC before trying Celebrity. You will love the perks.

In case you haven't read all the replies, You won't be sailing

on any Celebrity ship out of San Juan in the month of May in any

year.;)...Celebrity doesn't offer any Caribbean cruises in May,

out of any port. If you are looking at Summit, the month of May

would be BERMUDA:D

For us the Summit repos that stop overnight in Bermuda are the best of both worlds especially if you spend a night or two in San Juan before sailing. We've only sailed on RCC once because we enjoy the ambience of Celebrity much more.

I'll watch for that repo- cruise when it comes on the schedule, or if someone mentions it here.

If Celebrity stays consistent with the Summit, the repo will leave San Juan on April 23rd and get to Bayonne on May 1st. It is the Summit cruise that Celebrity opens up their new bookings with every year. It opens up in late March or early April of 2015.
