Gma&Gpa Posted August 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2014 The fantasy left Charleston around 4:30 but it sure looks like she is heading back to port. Anybody know why?

Gma&Gpa Posted August 13, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2014 We were following on one of the port webcams just because I have a friend on it. It's just the blue ship icon that you can see in the ports. But it went out quite a ways and then I noticed the 'ship' turned and headed back. Looks like its back in the harbor

Looks like its back in the harbor That's exactly what I'm looking at, too. Hopefully nothing wrong with a passenger and hopefully nothing wrong with the ship as I am on the next cruise. Seago2 Posted August 14, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) I have a friend on the ship. She just facebooked me - it was a medical emergency Ok, thank you, I hope the passenger is ok. I'm surprised how often this happens. You would think that there would be an inkling that someone would be in extremis in a couple of hours, but time and again they head out to sea and return. I guess so, but time allowances are based on a crawl to save fuel.
Gma&Gpa Posted August 14, 2014 Author #15 Share Posted August 14, 2014 I thought she was on the move, but she stopped again. So, still setting at the port.
CocoaMom Posted August 14, 2014 #16 Share Posted August 14, 2014 They're very fortunate to be close enough for a return. In July on the Fantasy we had a medical emergency and returned to Freeport where the passenger was brought ashore. We also had a code "bright star" on a different day. Gma&Gpa Posted August 14, 2014 Author #18 Share Posted August 14, 2014 maybe that first time, the ship was just shifting positions a little and wasn't really getting ready to go at that time.

Wilgr Posted August 14, 2014 #20 Share Posted August 14, 2014 On multiple occasions I have seen someone pass out during the Muster Drill. matter of fact it happened every single time my first 4 or 5 cruises. That Charleston afternoon heat is a killer.
kristy29 Posted August 14, 2014 #21 Share Posted August 14, 2014 We watched her leave from the pier the first time. Muster was over before sail away. It also wasn't actually that hot, but I imagine stuffed on the open decks with hundreds of other people was different than what I was feeling.
