Paying the balance - UK

Hi everyone - sorry to start off with such a mundane post but I am currently on the telephone to the 'Personal Cruise specialist team' in the UK to pay the balance off our cruise in Oct and Nov. So far I have been hanging on the line for 1 hour and 11 minutes - is it always this hard to get through?!! Just wondering if I would be any better off hanging up and calling the booking line instead?

I had exactly the same experience the other week - I ended up doing what you did but the person who answered then put me back in the call queue - it is a bank holiday but that is still not good. I would hang up and redial as the costs will be piling up

Thanks for the reply - I think it worked magic! I was just reading it and thinking that I probably would hang up when the 'on hold' music finally stopped (it was driving me insane!) and I got to speak to someone and pay off the balance. I dread to think what my phone bill will be when it comes through but at least now I'm all paid up! :D

You need to speak to the account department rather than the sales team. Both can take your payment but you get through to accounts much more quickly! If you listen to the options, there will be one about making a payment or accounts. I am sure that they have given names for the option at different times. I am not even convinced that they are different people, you just get through more quickly. At least, that is my experience. Good luck!

Thanks Project-gal - I got through in the end. The first thing she said was that the accounts team weren't working today and I thought I'd waited on the line for nothing but thankfully she was able to take my money!

I do it through 'my celebrity.' Saves the wait and you can do it when you want to

I've tried that in the past and get cut off at the final page and still have to ring accounts:

a) to check if the payment has gone through

b) to pay.

I get so frustrated on Bank Holidays, I never know whose working and who isn't. It would be much easier if everyone took a holiday!
