Was wondering if Norwegian exchanges USD for Euros on board?

We are going on a cruise in March and would love to be able to exchange money at the Guest Services Desk.

I've never done it, but I believe they do exchange currency, but at a very bad rate.

Yes, they do. You can exchange money at the purser's desk. As previously mentioned, the exchange rate is terrible - you're far better off using a credit card while you travel abroad.

Also there is a fixed fee (of $10 IIRC) per transaction.

But. As others have said it isn't a good idea as you will get a very poor rate. Best is to use ATM on shore or if you cannot do that exchange dollars cash for Euro cash at an airport either in US or Europe.

Here are a few tips;

- the ship will exchange money into euro's; however, they only carry so much euro per day. So depending on when you go to guest services they may have or may not have enough. I have experienced both situations.

- The ship has an atm machine; but there are banks with atm machines in every port. So what ever you feel comfortable with is what you should do.

Use credit cards and ATM in port. Anything else is highway robbery.
