The 2005 "L" storm was Lisa.

Lisa hasn't been used yet as it is only August 21, 2005. Irene was the last with Jose waiting to be famous.

Our TA was Sept 2004. I am going by what was announced over & over by the Captain before we headed to Vigo Spain.

But we still go back to the question of "How does the information posted by the OP benefit anyone?" My sensitivity to this whole cruise and weather issue is a little rawer than most because I am still rebuilding after Hurricane Charley and to be honest, I have little sympathy for those whose travel plans were changed for safety reasons during Hurricane season. When I heard that Iceland was getting a return visit within a year I posted the news for those who may be on a cruise this week going there & getting Vigo Spain.

Anyhow I thank the UNIV of AKRON for emailing me the answer to "X" failure to addressing a hurricane by its correct name, before moving us to Vigo.

Tropical Depression Twelve formed from a tropical wave some 670 miles (1078 km) west-southwest of the [url="http://www.what-means.com/encyclopedia/Cape_Verde"][color=#0000ff]Cape Verde[/color][/url] islands on [url="http://www.what-means.com/encyclopedia/September_16"][color=#0000ff]September 16[/color][/url]. It became Tropical Storm Karl at the 11 pm AST (0300 UTC) advisory. Early on [url="http://www.what-means.com/encyclopedia/September_18"][color=#0000ff]September 18[/color][/url] it strengthened rapidly to become a hurricane, and was a major hurricane 36 hours later.

Karl turned north over the central Atlantic, and there peaked as a 140 mph (225 km/h) Category 4 hurricane. It moved steadily northwards, staying many hundreds of miles from any land, until it began to weaken and become extratropical over cooler waters. Karl ceased to be a tropical system on [url="http://www.what-means.com/encyclopedia/September_24"][color=#0000ff]September 24[/color][/url] over the north Atlantic.

It has nearly completed extratropical transition, but still has sustained winds near 75 mph (120 km/h). Karl is speeding northwards at 30 mph (48 km/h).

Karl is expected to turn to the northeast. It is forecast to pass between [url="http://www.what-means.com/encyclopedia/Iceland"][color=#0000ff]Iceland[/color][/url] and [url="http://www.what-means.com/encyclopedia/Faroe_Islands"][color=#0000ff]Faroe Islands[/color][/url] as a strong extratropical storm before merging with another low pressure system.

I did a search on this topic on the Main Celebrity board and I was unable to find the hundreds of complaints you speak of. I was unable to find even one thread devoted to the topic of X changing its itinerary from Bermuda to Halifax. I saw something on TV about it though.
I guess my point is, what good does it do to inform the already ticketed passengers that the sky is about to fall on them?
Vigo makes pretty good olive oil so there had to be some redeeming feature about going to that port.

I think that our mysterious poster knew you were talking about Joan. Be it Lilli, Lisa, Karl, or a hurricane to be named later,as our OP sees fit, we will be on this year's Transatlantic and have the confidence that the cruiseline and it's person in charge of this vessel will keep us out of harm's way. And having been to Spain this past year, a little diversion to there would not be so bad. We will pack some extra shorts just in case. ;)
