Hotel near Miami

We are looking at a Panama Canal cruise out of Miami ending in San Diego. What hotels do you recommend staying at prior to the cruise. We have taken many cruises from Ft. Lauderdale but never from Miami.

How early are you arriving, for how long, when and what's your budget are questions that will help to narrow down your options. :confused:

 

Flying into MIA or FLL? :confused:

 

Downtown Miami hotels are closest to POM - if flying into MIA they are a $25 cab ride from the airport; often suggested include the Hampton Inn Mary Brickell, Doubletree, Marriott, Hyatt, Intercontinental and Holiday Inn. A $10-12+ taxi will get you to POM in the morning.

 

If you want the beach & nightlife you should explore staying in Miami Beach - especially South Beach. :D Taxi there from MIA will run about $32 and another $15+ cab will get you to POM in the morning.

JohnInDC has given you a nice list of hotels that are downtown. I would also add to the list the Marriott Marquis.
