hillbillycruisers Posted October 9, 2014 #26 Share Posted October 9, 2014 I have used a Vpap..which is like a cpap, only variable pressure..since 2006. We cruise every year, and on one cruise I visited with a sleep disorder doctor who told me it is perfectly harmless to use regular tap water in a cpap/vpap, as long as its for short periods of time, and not for extended, regular use. He said he had a cpap, and when staying at hotels or on cruises, he always used regular tap water. So..since he seemed to be an expert on the subject, I've taken his advice and not bothered to bring along dis. water when on vacation. Been doing it 5 years now, and my machine still works perfectly. :)
MMastell Posted October 10, 2014 #27 Share Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) Yes: I agree that the chances of picking up something by using tap water is extremely low. I have used tap and bottled water in a pinch. I prefer to err on the side of caution and at $3.00/gallon, on the ship and .89/gallon at home it isn't a hard choice. lincolnillinois Posted October 13, 2014 #28 Share Posted October 13, 2014 I just ask the room steward for distilled water for a CPAP machine and they bring a gallon. Done this on four different ships. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
pga33 Posted October 13, 2014 #29 Share Posted October 13, 2014 I've always used the ship's water, and I've never had a problem. Sent from my iPad using Forums
