Divina questions

This is our first time sailing on MSC and I can't seem to find the exact answers I'm looking for so...

we're sailing on the Divina on 10/18 - we like to take our own luggage onboard and get on the ship when the cabins are ready so we can drop everything off so...2 questions - does MSC allow you to carry your luggage on and what time are the cabins generally ready for passengers?

we also like to take our own luggage off at disembarkation but do not want to get off at 7 AM as I've seen on posts about self assist. Can we still take our own luggage off and get off at a time of our choosing?

thanks for any info you can provide!

Not sure about taking it on, but you can self debark and not be on the early schedule, but you MUST be out of your cabin by 7 A.M. They are definite about that, you can go and eat. You can probably leave your luggage at your assigned room while eating. I left mine w/ permission at the casino while I went to the buffet to pick up a cup of coffee.

The rooms are advertised at being available at 3pm, since the ship doesn't sail till 7. I never heard any announcements saying they were ready, I went to my room at 2;30 and it was ready. You can leave your bag at guest services that last morning while you eat. I've always taken the self assist to mean anytime after 7am.

We're just off the Divina. As far as boarding with your own luggage, it depends on the size. As we entered, right before going through security, several people were told their luggage had to be checked. It was clearly too large to go through the scanners. Rooms are not available until 3:00.

We self assisted off (Grey 2) and were in our car at 7:05. As others have stated, the cabins need to be vacated by 7 AM but breakfast is served in the dining room until 8:30 and at the buffet until 11AM.

Hope this helps. It was a nice week. Enjoy.
