On a 28 days itinerary, what would you do: keep the drinks package or take a $2,000 price reduction?

What do you usually spend on beverages per day, including the 15% service charge? Your break even point is $36 per person per day.

 

I'm assuming that the $2,000. Is for 2 people. If it's per person, the break even is double.

My DH has also pointed out that by taking the saving, we will drink what we like without worrying about the $7/drink limit.... That is a BIG consideration... Thanks for your calculation.... You are quite right also

It would be close to a draw for me, I usually have 6 drinks a day, but my DH would save money on his drinking habits.:D So I would keep it and save some money on our bar tab.

take the price reduction, whatever you drink will go onto shipboard account, where you will earn 1 cruise day for every $300 spent.

i think I wll take the price reduction and earn cruise days from our spending. As a 3* Mariner, I get 25% off wine packages and specialty dinners plus there is always the happy hour specials.... As it is a port intensive itinerary, we may also do a lot of our drinking off the ship.
