You might not want to cruise to Bermuda June 2017

I'm actually wondering if there will be cruises at all during that time. They may use cruise ships as floating hotels for the event.

Last year on the Island Princess we came into San Francisco on the last day of the America cup. As some might recall, the race should have been over earlier, but USA made a late come back and forced additional, then a final race. Our arrival was delayed because of the race (they announced that) and think we made it to the dock around 11AM which I figured was after the race was over. But we docked within a few hundred feet of the starting pier and right after we docked, the pre-race activities started! Unfortunately, we had to disembark before the race was over, but we saw most of the race (security finally had to escort us off the ship). The day was extraordinary. No way we could have got better seats.

Of course, this wasn't planned and I doubt the experience could be repeated. But an amazing day!

Best to you all on your adventures!

Cost for whom? Bermuda? Think of the revenue they would generate from selling the "rooms". I don't think Bermuda has the hotel space for an event like the America's cup without doing something like that. Plus, I'm not sure they want cruise ships calling when all those other boats are racing.

Not saying it's going to happen, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I'm just thinking about the length of time a ship would need to be docked. NCL or whomever would make out great. Less fuel to burn, but what about restocking the ship with supplies if its going to sit there for 2-3-4 weeks. Maybe their just their during the actual final races. Good question about where Bermuda plans to house everyone

That's fair. I hadn't thought about it being a multi-week event.
