Do Cruises Ever Actually Drop in Price?

Recommended Posts

What is the best way to keep an eye on prices? I look through the cruiseline website but my cruise for a year from now is sold out of the category that I'm booked on, so it's hard to get a price for that category now.

I saw Carnival advertising our cruise for $70 less on Cyber Monday... called my PVP, left him a voicemail, and within 10 minutes had a price adjustment made, and then a return call from him... Awesome service! We had not fully paid at that point...

RC has discontinued drastic price drops in the last 30 days to fill up the ship. They believe that it undermines the confidence of their loyal customers and frustrates travel agents.

As long as the ships sail 90% + occupied it's doubtful they'll change this policy however pricing in the 60 day out range may soften. Many southeastern retirees count on those sales for their cruise vacations. A good compromise would be to do so for sailings of 5 days or less.
