LONG day in Nassau

We have an extremely long day in Nassau: 8am-1am. Does anyone have advice what to do during this time? We are only doing a 5-day cruise so we want to take advantage of every minute and enjoy the port (being on the ship is not an option).

We are four adults in our mid-twenties and would prefer DIY ideas. We like the convenience of DIY and we like to save $$ so we can put it towards other things. We love the beach, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, etc.

We've been to Nassau before and spent the day at the Wyndham, it was nice but there wasn't much to do. We've seen the Hilton and the beach doesn't look impressive for $60/pp, so we don't want to do that.

I've looked into Melia but idk if it's worth the $35/pp w/o food for just the pools and beaches (non-motorized equipment & towels aren't included). Do they have off-shore snorkeling...and is it any good? Otherwise it might be worth it.

Our other option would be just to stick w/ Junkanoo beach. Or is there a better beach to visit? ...or something else to do?

That night we're thinking about doing Senor Frogs. We've been there before during the afternoon and it was fun. Unless there's better place near the ship for nightlife? We probably don't have to be back on the ship until 11pm or 12am.

Any ideas/advice would be very much appreciated!!!

Thanks guys! I think we're just going to do Cabbage beach in the morning, then hang out and walk around in the middle of the day. If we still want to do the beach we'll head over to Junkanoo for the afternoon. That evening we'll do Senor Frogs :)
