Deck 6 Sunshine above Casino

Hi there! We are about to book a balcony on deck 6 above the Casino. Looking for anyone who has stayed in these balconies. Do you hear the casino below? Can you smell cigarette smoke in you room? Any feed back would be appreciated.

I didn't risk it..we booked on deck 8.

We had this booked then decided better safe then sorry after reading reviews & changed to a higher deck.

I didn't hear anything from the casino but I was not directly above the casino. I was above the shake spot/coffee bar area. When you went down one flight you enter the casino and that is where there will be anywhere from 10 to 20 smokers standing at the entrance. I never smelled smoke on deck six accept for the smokers that still smoked on their balcony and smoke was coming in my cabin if I had the door open. I did mention it to the steward that the smell of cigarettes was not from us so we did not get a fine imposed.

If you are forward or aft on deck six you can avoid the casino entrance where the smokers congregate by using the respective stairs or elevators.

This would be great to know, for a person in our travel party as well, who booked an OV 6101

I would imagine the cigarette smell would be intense, but I'm pretty cigarette smoke sensitive. If it were me, I'd stay away from that area of the ship for a cabin choice. I would hate to take the risk. Not even thinking about the noise. :mad:

My thoughts as a very experienced cruiser:

 

I personally would avoid being above the casino but I have to think that I don't think it be much of an issue if any, I just won't book because I rather be safe than sorry but I always make sure I am not UNDER the casino, for sure that is bad.

 

lynns-man- Find out where the laundry rooms are think they may be in that area but unsure.

 

Jolyroger you do understand should you be in rough seas being all that way forward you have more motion and also you will hear the anchor go down when in port, it can be very loud.

Thanks lyndamr, i just checked and they are opposite 6289 so i think they are far enough down to not be a problem but also near enough if i need it :)

My in laws booked that cabin for their son and his family. .we will be on deck 11 forward which we've done before. ..but I was concerned for them...I think they didn't really care cause they were getting a free cruise ( well courtesy of his parents )..now my mother inlaw, is on deck 2 cabin 2319....that is one I'm a bit concerned about

We noticed cigarette smoke smell in the Deck 6 elevator lobby above the casino (near 6283.)

You asked about smelling smoke in your cabin, I'll say no to that. However it will be quite noticeable on the stairs just off the bar/elevator area, even up to the 8th deck.

 

Another concern is if you are over the area where the (rock) band plays, unless you love hearing music through the cabin floor.

depends on where you are above the casino-- if you are anywhere by the casino bar-- there is a band that sets up across the area-- and plays til the wee hours and boy are they loud

 

6101 is above the abck part of the stage-- it will be loud with the bass from the shows-- but your friend will be at the show so it should not bother her
