mom1965 Posted February 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2015 Can anybody tell me the schedule of the casino on the 15 night to Hawaii - I heard the casino closed while there so does that mean they open the 5 days on the away and then close for 5 days once they get into the Hawaiian Islands and then reopen once we are on the way back? I am just trying to budget my spending money.
xeroxme Posted February 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2015 Yes the casino be closed while at port. It will be open once the ship is away from the ports approximately 5 miles. Table games will be available also however they due close nightly for staffing reasons but the slot machines will be on! Good luck and enjoy your cruise. mom1965 Posted February 23, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted February 23, 2015 I had heard that each night they went out a few miles so it could open. Is that not the case?

If they do leave port at night I would be confident the casino would be open. It would be a key reason to leave port and to avoid port costs. When a ship is docked they are spending big money. Im sure they will make it fun.
YourCruiseGurl Posted February 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2015 When I did this cruise in December, we didn't stay docked in any port overnight. The casino was open every night.

Same for us last year, was open shortly after leaving ports.
kennicott Posted April 3, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2016 When I did this cruise in December, we didn't stay docked in any port overnight. The casino was open every night. We've never been on NCL so not certain about them. But on our three TP and South Pacific cruises on HAL and Princess, which all included multiple stops in the Hawaiian Islands, the casinos were always open unless we were in port, matter of fact in all our years of world voyaging I can't recall a casino being open when we were in port or at anchor nearby. I know it gets confusing when state and US Territorial waters come up. There is the traditional three mile limit, the 200 mile limit and I believe 12 miles gets used too. Years ago I used to fly commercially and State law enforcement in Alaska contracted with us, fishery violations then were under State law if within 3 miles and Federal beyond that. SadieN Posted April 3, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2016 On sea days seemed like the slots were open at least 20 hours. I know they were busy after the last show and pax were already feeding the machines at 7:30am. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
jakeT Posted April 3, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2016 Bring lots of money. Fifteen days are a lot of days. Play hard the first few days to get your drink card early. So you have free drinks the rest of the cruise

On my first cruise (Carnival Sensation), the ship overnighted in the Bahamas and the casino on board opened that evening.
