Rare Saint Greg Posted July 20, 2015 #51 Share Posted July 20, 2015 I think I see the mix up. Im trying to book a room for 4 people. (Me, Wife, and 2 daughters. When I enter 2 adults, 0 children I see the deal you're talking about. Do you think I would get a double bed room by booking it with only 2 adults? Thanks, Scott Hotwire automatically books 2 bed rooms if available...priceline books 1 bed rooms. I call ahead to make sure I've got what I need. Some hotels will work with you others won't. I've never had a problem at Riverside. I would say the only thing you'd have to worry about is if they don't have any 2 bed rooms available that night. If you don't want to chance it here are the other options I recognize on hotwire that night using 2 adult, 2 child: Hyatt Regency $114, Intercontinental $108, Le Pavillion $99, Astor Crowne Plaza $115, Omni Riverfront $

Once I book, there's no cancellation/refund is there? Will it tell me once I book what type of room I got? Sorry for all the questions. Scott You could call just to see if they have 2-bed rooms available. After I book on hotwire I call the hotel to find out what the room type is and try to get it changed if need be. There aren't supposed to be any refunds unless you purchase trip insurance and have a valid reason. I have gotten them canceled several times by booking a different hotwire room the same night and telling hotwire I accidentally double-booked that night. AprilJ Posted July 23, 2015 #54 Share Posted July 23, 2015 Any guess on which hotel the 4 1/2 star on Bourbon on Hotwire might be?
karinad Posted July 23, 2015 #55 Share Posted July 23, 2015 This is what I'm planning on doing.....we're going in Oct. and we have points at the Sheraton. I have 2 nights booked there with points that can be cancelled a day or 2 before we get there. I hate to use my points, as they're the last ones I have, so, I'll bid on Priceline for a very low price for the area I want and hopefully I'll get a great deal for 2 nights. If not, I still have a room there. I did it once for Florida and got a 5 star for $59.
Rare Saint Greg Posted July 23, 2015 #56 Share Posted July 23, 2015 Any guess on which hotel the 4 1/2 star on Bourbon on Hotwire might be? Royal Sonesta on Bourbon, Sheraton on Canal, or Hyatt French quarter. What night(s)?

AprilJ Posted July 23, 2015 #59 Share Posted July 23, 2015 I'd that a great deal? Should I hold out and wait for better rates? I was set on Hilton Riverside, but I think I wanna be in thr quarter so we can park Saturday morning and walk or trolley til we head to the port Monday morning. I'm bad to book too early. Thanks for your help!!
AprilJ Posted July 23, 2015 #60 Share Posted July 23, 2015 Holy cow I just checked the rates at the Hyatt its 198 at night but their parking is $42, me thinks that might be a little much.
toolaidback Posted July 26, 2015 #61 Share Posted July 26, 2015 Yeah, hoping prices dip back down in the next week or so. I should have booked last week when they were $50 cheaper
toolaidback Posted July 30, 2015 #62 Share Posted July 30, 2015 It's me again, lol. We are planning to get to New Orleans on Friday now instead of Saturday. I found a 4 1/2 star french quarter/bourbon street using 2 adults and 2 children. Any idea what i'll probably end up with? The rate seems great at $104/nt. Also, I've already booked the fulton st. garage, has been able to edit their length of parking once booked and paid for? Or can I show up a day early and pay for an extra day? Thanks, Scott

I'm waiting to reserve my spot for that very reason. Currently coming on a Sunday but may change to a Saturday.

taymaesmom Posted August 4, 2015 #70 Share Posted August 4, 2015 Sure. I'm booking for football season now and finding good deals on Hilton Riverside as late as the end of December. The 4* French Quarter/Mississippi River with 90% recommendation right now on Hotwire is Hilton Riverside. I'm getting it as low as $75 through my December trips. I was able to Hotwire the Hilton Riverside for $105 for the day after Christmas for our NYE cruise. We stayed there last year pre-cruise and loved it! kdunn6 Posted August 5, 2015 #71 Share Posted August 5, 2015 We stayed at the Embassy Suites near the Convention Center, and walked to the pier. http://www.embassyneworleans.com/ . I know this is a older post, but wanted to know what you thought of the Embassy Suites, We have reservations for 2 rooms for 2 nights in December, before our cruise. Alot of the reviews are not so good. I got a rate of 89.00 per night, 2 room king suite. Also how was the walk to the pier? There will be 4 adults and a 15 and 7 year old. All input would be great. katiel53 Posted August 13, 2015 #72 Share Posted August 13, 2015 We sailed on Dream July 26-Aug 1. For our pre-cruise hotel, we stayed at the Hampton Inn on Carolondelet St. It's considered a French quarter hotel. The room we had was wonderful with a lot of space and a large bathroom. The free breakfast was good too. It included waffles, that were fresh as each person made his/her own with lots of toppings available. Also there were cheese omelets, muffins, toast, fruit, juices and coffee. After the cruise we stayed at the JW Marriott on Canal St. The hotel was beautiful, but I really preferred the Hampton Inn. The taxi fare to the airport from the Marriott was $14 per person and there were 4 of us, so it was kind of pricey.
karinad Posted September 21, 2015 #73 Share Posted September 21, 2015 I'm dragging out this thread again for hotels in NOLA. I was able to get the Crowne Plaza in the French Quarters for the end of our Dream cruise in Oct. for $109. a night. We could've got it for $95. with a cancellation fee but opted for the higher to be able to cancel. Is there a better location in this hotel that we should request to be? The hotel gets good and bad reviews as most do!
HCTiger9704 Posted September 29, 2015 #74 Share Posted September 29, 2015 Hotels near the port: Hampton Inn & Suites New Orleans-Convention Center New Orleans LA New Orleans Marriott at the Convention Center Hilton Riverside Harrah's Casino There are other hotels near by (just look up hotels on Convention BLVD). Free parking One of my friends from Where's George stays at the Holiday Inn in Metairie since if you stay there an x amount of days, you can leave your car there for free when you go on a cruise. I believe that the Holiday Inn Gretna has the same offer.
Carriecruises Posted December 15, 2015 #75 Share Posted December 15, 2015 What is the best areas to pick for cruise people on Hotwire? French Quarter/Bourbon Street Warehouse District French Quarter/Mississippi River I want to be able to explore the French Quarter but want to be reasonably close to the port. We are flying in. We will be staying February 13-15, 2016. Our cruise is February 15-20.
