I found that with IConcierge working I managed to also get IMessage working without being logged into the internet. DD found the same on Princess a few weeks ago.

Has anyone used the IConcierge to text others sailing with you? Did it work well and is the charge $7.95 per device?

I believe it was per device. We loved having the ability to communicate with it on the Getaway. We traveled with friends and it was so handy. Definitely worth it!!

According to ncl.com it is only available on the following ships: Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Jewel and Pride Of America. In addition Norwegian Star got it during their recent dry dock a few weeks ago.

 

My guess is that the rest of the fleet (incl. the Dawn) will get it during their next dry docks.

Wife and I used it on the Pearl last July...yes, $7.95 per device. Worked well. Just used it for texting, no phone calls. You and anyone else registered to your cabin, are automatically given an ID number and put in the address book. You can add anyone else you may meet on the cruise. You are assigned a "number" to use with this app.

It worked great for us texting each other on the ship and also worked withing a couple of 100 metres from the ship too so our friends sent a message to let us know when they had got off or were boarding
