I yelled Beer me B!T@HES... kidding I thought it though (there were kids around). We didnt win $3000 but we'll take a winning of $900!!!

 

 

 

 

After they confirmed our win, we had to take a pic with Ashley the best Bingo caller EVER! How cute is he, ok both of them really! And to think, E wanted to NAP! I mean.. your welcome. I think we skipped all the way to collect our winnings, of course stopping at the bar for a celebratory drink.. for me!

 

 

 

 

Holy **** !!! That's fantastic !! Congrats !! Guess I'll be playin me some Bingo on my next cruise . That's some serious beer money

Come to Texas, Galveston is getting to be a better departure port every year!! IN FACT, we just booked Magic for September, and I THINK we are going to book Freedom and Breeze for next year as we are getting Breeze 2016!!!

Once we were full, we went to see what was on sale in the shops. E of course was looking at shirts. Then I thought about my Instagram scavenger hunt and I needed a pic with Freddy. Since he no longer roams the ship, this lil guy would have to do. Should have bought him.. maybe next time.

 

 

 

 

E was really wanting to get a model ship, he thought it would be cool to start collecting all of them. But I talked him out of it as we had 1)no where to stuff it in our luggage and 2) no where to start collecting them in our house, as most places hold marine corps memorabilia.

 

 

 

 

With that crisis averted, we headed back to the room to change into our swimsuits and pack a bag. Off to chair hog and work on relaxing, our tan, my book, E napping and some beverages. The lido deck was already taken, so E didnt want to walk around waiting and hoping for a chair. So we went off to the Lanai, on starboard side and found deck chairs for MILES available.

 

 

 

 

I wishes my friends back home a happy bday via facebook since I had the social media package for internet. I seariously got my $25 worth.

 

 

 

 

Later we saw a Royal Caribbean ship pass by.

 

 

 

 

After a nap in the sun, I got up to get another round for us at the casino. But I walked by Fat Jimmy's BBQ 1st. Where the line was wrapping around the deck.... Um no food is worth waiting in a line that long. After getting 2 new beers, I got on the hub app to see what was going on around the ship. Which by the way it has a great way to see who on your hub friends list is doing activities if they click that they are attending it. As you can see here Justice was set to go to Name that Tune at 10am... which he was still in bed at that time as thats when we finished brunch LOL.

We are on the Nov. 21 sailing as well. So very excited to be cruising on Thanksgiving. Have you checked out our role call yet? It's kinda quiet on there right now. I guess everybody is just not as excited as me (or you) and they're not stalking the boards. This was a fantastic review that Anewmac did. I hate for it to ever end.

Our roll call was quiet also, actually I find all roll calls on here that way. Hate to say it but, I know I have found more involvement on the social media sites.

 

I've loved reading your review. I feel like we could be friends! I'm an insurance agent, love Friends, have 2 boys, and my husband doesn't smile either. ;) After a 10 year cruising hiatus, we have our 15 year anniversary cruise on the Liberty in January and I am about to book the Breeze from Galveston for the whole family for July 2016. I think this would be a great ship for our boys' first cruise. Well actually, our oldest son went with us on our last cruise when he was 10 months old, so now you know why we did not cruise for so long! That was not the most fun cruise haha.

Our friend is in Fort Worth at a reserve unit. Oh the Freedom was our 1st Carnival Cruise, It will be a great one, especially since they did the 2.0 upgrades. How fun. Ya being closer to the East Coast would be great no airfare to have to buy... we shall see where the Marine Corps eventually puts us.

It was the 1st time I saw it, and they didnt have Jai Lai (as I google the can) and the other type they had wasnt that color, but they did have another type. I found it at the casino bar. But no where else. Unless it wasnt displayed anywhere else. Thanks also!

We didnt win, but we didnt lose. When we made it back to the mainland we noticed all the resorts that were around. I didnt remember seeing them on the way out. But seeing how choppy La Romana was compaired to Punta Cana, Im glad we ended up doing a week in Punta Cana it was much calmer then the other side of the island.

 

Oh that, excuse my little yacht. I didnt want to make everyone jelly. So I just slummed it with everyone else in the speed boat LOL. (a girl can dream!)

 

Hubby said ours would be more like this... and at this point I would take it!

 

Once we were off the boat, I wanted to do some shopping as I knew we could get some better deals in the little huts, rather then the big shopping area we previously walked thru. But there was no time for that. The tour works hard to keep you on time as they know we all were booked on which ships to get us back asap.

 

Oh well. It was a fun ride back, the kids with us were all tired and took a quick nap. Everyone else was a chatty kathy, I think thanks to the rum punch.

 

Once we got back to the port, we stopped for a Mojito at the stand to share. Its funny I walk up and he starts speaking spanish to me... I shake my head and hubby in spanish says basically, shes a hispanic from Spain but cant speak a lick of spanish... thanks babe. All I understood after that was GRINGRO .. hey LOL. Anyhow the guy then says in english what kind of Mojito, so I look at his board of about 9drinks and name one.. Oh no all gone.

This one, nope gone

Ok how about this? NADA

E picked one, guy shook his head no.

To which I say AY OTRA VEZ, QUE PASA (Ay, again, whats up?) (the only spanish I know, besides asking where the bathroom is, whats to eat and how to order BEERS!... really thats all you need to know in any language I feel!)

Anyhow after I say my poquito of espanol, he said I'll make you my special... hmm ok. Once I had a sip it was special alright, Basically tasted like lemonade, but had a PUNCH!

 

As we made our way into the port shopping center, they had rum tasting. Shot, Shot, Shots everybody! They were both strong in my opinion. I ended up getting a Presidente beer as E had taken over my Mojito!

 

Inside we grabbed our usual souviners, Tshirt for E, Coffee mug for me, postcards, and for the life of me I cant remember what the boys got. ! Did I mention how good the mojito, rum and beer were? lol

 

Once we were done shopping, we went to get back on the ship. But not before a quick family photo in front of the icon of where we were.

Ive gotten thus far and had to stop and comment on La Romana, actually about the tour you took .we did the same Seavis tour last June on the Freedom . At first I was a little worried with how "well" organized the taxis were but once we got there everthing went as planned . I would definitely do this tour again in a heart beat . You got some really good photos . Loving your review by the way .

I had book reservation at the Steakhouse for all 4 of us tonight... but seeing as though the boys were ditching us ... again. We invited our new friends Pam & Gary to take the boys spot so after taking some pics we went down to there room to chat and have some wine, that they brought.

 

Then off to dinner we went.

 

Decisions, decisions... sorry my camera was already drunk from the pre dinner drinks we had in our friends room.

 

Our waitress was an adorable gal from Bulgaria I think. It was our 1st time in the steakhouse so she gave us a run down on what was in store.

 

Its a smaller area in the steakhouse but it was packed. With a couple large parties.

 

We started with a glass of wine, well all but E, who ordered... a Sprite LOL..

 

Out came my favorite, bread and different smears to add, of which I have forgotten what they were. Also that round thing with a stick in the middle was the salt and paper... how adorbs is that.

The "rule" is at the steakhouse you get a salad, an app and 1 entree and dessert. But you can sub your salad for 2 apps, and thats just what all of us did... except E lol.

 

Gary had the baked Onion soup I think... maybe lobster bisque? Looks more like potatoe to me.

 

Pam had the Tuna Tartare

 

I had the crab cake (it was dry but had good taste)

 

E also had the ceasar salad. This boy never strays far from the menu lol. Which by the way he was really confused when it came, he asked how am I supposed to eat this.. uh use your knife.. Oh.. He's so pretty!

 

E also had the shimp cocktail, of which I ate most of it for him.

 

I dont even remember what this was? Also I had the escargot... it was so much better than in the main dinning room. It was delish, where as the MDR is really oily and greasy.

on to the main course... man this camera needs to lay off the drinks. E had the Cowboy steak 18oz of meat... cooked well (seriously he ruins good meat LOL) Thankfully the chef must have known better and made it Med-Well... a bit better.

 

I had the Filet Mignon 9oz of medium rare melt in your mouth goodness! I believe Gary and Pam had the surf and turf, and rib eye all which looked yummy.

 

For sides, E and I shared a baked potatoe and wasabe horseradish mashed potatoes. We both did not care for the mashed taters.

 

The piece de resistance! Dessert time

 

E was ubber sad not to have a WCMC on the menu. So he didnt want anything...but I made him order the cheesecake... with a side of sprite LOL.

 

I got the chocolate sampler, and it was just heaven in my mouth! Every single thing was good. But sadly I dont remember what each was. It was seriously melt in your mouth great.

After we were all stuffed to the gills, we waddled next door to catch the 11pm comedy show. We walked in semi later but still found 4 seats together near the front left. The guys both stated the seats were so comfy they may fall asleep after all the food. But we soon were laughing our booties off. Sad to say I never got a pic of all 4of us together.. guess that means we need to cruise together again sometime!

 

After the show we parted ways, I put E to bed and changed over into jeans.

 

Got my glow sticks out and a tiara, as tonight was girls night. A bunch of gals from our cruise thread had planned to meet up and bar hop. I had missed part of it since having dinner and the show. But used the hub app to find out they were in the piano bar.

 

By the time I got there the 4 lone survivors stated everyone else (well the other 4 LOL) had long gone to bed after the 1st 2 stops.. what? But we kept the party going for another hour just chatting... and drinking.

 

When everyone was ready to call it a night, I want to walk around the quiet ship, then grabbed one piece of pizza before heading to bed. While up there J and his friends were doing the same, and he said Hi and I reminded him he had 30mins till it was time to head in. As I was on my walk back to the room, P was up on the sports deck having a late night game of barefoot soccer. He pretended not to know me.... teenagers.

 

Eventually they made their way back to the room and it was lights out.

Everyone was getting hungry as it was now around 1pm-ish. I had tried to find a Groupon but the boys were all hungry, thirsty, and hot. So we stopped at the next place we saw with food that looked pretty good. (BIG MISTAKE, look for a coupon/groupon etc prior... just saying)

 

Hubby saw a huge Beer-garita go by and said lets get one to share.. ok. He's not a big drinker (I am) so when he said get a drink for him I dont 2nd guess it.

 

My 12yr old J, wanted a strawberry margarita (virgin of course)

 

One quesadilla, and 3 burgers later we were stuffed.

 

Food was good, drinks hit the spot. Then the bill came and we about died. $204.... $30 service charge, what's that you ask... thats just for dinning on Ocean Drive. No joke we asked about it. We can cross that off our list of things to do once and never do again LOL.

I used to love South Beach but these outrageous prices are exactly why we no longer go.

 

We live in South Florida (Broward County) and are accustomed to touristy prices but South Beach prices are now outright ridiculous for less-than-quality food and beverages. I mean, $19 for a virgin smoothie and $18 for a quesadilla with barely any cheese by the look of it!

 

Great to experience once, I suppose, but otherwise there are better places for less $$$.
