leahsdad Posted April 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2015 Nelson's Boatyard is nice and easy---restaurants, shops, pretty boats and a whole lotta history-----$8 admission---easy to get to by cab or on the $1.50 pp bus----also has small grocery store and nice bakery Paul
lovebears Posted April 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2015 Is there a beach near Nelsons boatyard if we wanted to do that in addition to the museum and shops?

jerrib Posted July 15, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2015 If you are thinking within walking distance of the Dockyard, then no. The cruise pier in St. John is mid-way on the west coast. The Dockyard is on the southern coast. Returning from the Dockyard (heading north west to the pier) there are many beautiful beaches. Our favorite is Turner Beach. We especially enjoy loungers under the trees and a very nice restaurant/bar there. There are a few local craft vendors set-up, but you have to approach them (no-one will come up to you at your beach chair.)
