Cruisin since the 70s Posted April 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Does anyone know for sure if a standard Non-Chipped credit card (visa or Master card) can be used when we port here? I know in Europe and Canada they are requiring Chipped credit cards only and will not accept any without the chip in them. Thank you.

Earthworm Jim Posted April 24, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2015 I don't think you really need the chip card even in Europe. It's better if you have one, but in touristy places they are accustomed to dealing with Americans that don't.

Trend Posted April 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2015 I live in Canada and disabled a chip AMEX card since a grocery store I use had trouble reading AMEX chips . No problem anywhere I use it.
