sparklymermaid Posted June 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Has anyone taken the RCC shore excursions? I see a lot of Rome in a limo on the boards?
redwings1958 Posted June 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Has anyone taken the RCC shore excursions? I see a lot of Rome in a limo on the boards? I have 2 RIL tours booked for pisa and rome. RCCL tours are crowded and WAY overpriced. They will try to scare you by saying if their tours are late, the ship will be held, but NOT for an independent tour. RIL is highly recommended and reliable. Don't worry about it. Pick the best for UR family
cb at sea Posted June 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Do research...you do NOT have to book thru the cruise line....in some ports, DIY is totally ok. Know something about where you're going! Get a guidebook, or at least, google your ports! Do not travel "blind"!
CRUISEFAN0001 Posted June 17, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2015 We just used RomeInLimo on 2 excursions (La Spezia for Florence/Pisa) and Civitavecchia (Rome) the week of 5/31/15. Both were outstanding. If you have a group (including fellow passengers who join you), the cost is actually less than the RCI excursions, and because you are typically in a group of 8 or so...you are far more nimble to get around and see the various sites. We'd used RomeInLimo again without any hesitation whatsoever.
cindivan Posted June 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) Agree with using RIL. we used them in Las Spezia, Rome and Naples on the Allure June 7th sailing . They are very reliable and knowledgeable. We would never do an RC excursion. Ugh. Big buses waiting on all those people. Ksma23 Posted June 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2015 We have used Rome In Limo before and we are getting ready to use them again for our upcoming Allure cruise in August. We used them for both port tours and for transportation to and from the airport. They were outstanding and I would highly recommend them.
