I was under the impression that if you get a free cruise cert, you can either use THAT OR take the rebate but not both. I was wrong. Got a rebate with a free cruise cert on my 12/31 cruise and I applied the rebate toward my 11/18/16 sailing as payment and they tell me I can ALSO use the free cruise cert on another sailng before May 30. So I booked the April 29 Enchantment of the Seqs final sailing out of PC. Since my cert was only valued at $750 on a cruise I chose I had to pay $56 to upgrade to 8600, one of the deck 8 panoramic oceanviews. So now that I know, I have 2 more sailings before March 15 I can gain more rebates AND free cruises.

 

BTW, on Enchantment they gave me cash at cage and not the fake chips

My understanding is, you can not get a cash rebate and use a certificate on the same sailing.

 

If you used a cruise certificate for a specific sailing, you would not be able to pick up a cash rebate on that sailing. But you still are able to earn a cash rebate for a future sailing by March 15 2016. The certificates I have been receiving can be applied to future cruises. After each of my sailings I am entitled to a cash rebate (up to March 15 2016) and I do receive additional cruise certificates.

 

I used a certificate on one of our sailings in November and was not entitled to a cash rebate for that Nov sailing, since I can not get both applied a (cash rebate & cruise cert,) on the same sailing. Now, whatever I earned on that November sailing, I will be getting the cash rebate on our Friday sailing as no certificate was used to pay the balance off.

We are leaving on the Anthem Friday, and I have a cash rebate. We are sailing again on March 12, so my question is what happens with my comps from the January sailing? Will I get anything for the March cruise? This program is very confusing :)

We will also be on Anthem on Friday :) and I'll be sailing again on Anthem on March 7, so any cash rebate you & I earned on Friday's sailing, we will be able to pick up at the casino Cashier since these cruises sail before March 15 2016.

I spoke w CR they said free cruise or cash rebate ...will call one more time ...but it doesn't matter for me bec I am planning to go again on Anthem Oct 29 probably...need to make decision by March 15th :)

It would be nice to see you guys again :D on an Anthem's sailing, 11-20-16 or 10-20-2016 sailing in which I just added a B2B with the 5 night sailing before.

It's too bad I didn't know this earlier as I had 2 certificates expired. This time I apploed a $375 rebate as payment toward a Nov cruise AND used cert to get a free cruise April 29 on Enchantment. I still have an Augusr cruise that i will apply one of my next rebates I earn from my 2 Feb cruises. If I earn a good rebate on the Feb 26 cruise, I will already have booked a new future cruise . to apply THAT rebate towards.

Spoke to CR today, still no updates on their new program. :( CR said, there's a possibility they may not know anything for months. :eek: They did mention assigning tier levels based on our level of play in the past 12-18 months, I like that one. :)

 

Also, anyone that received cruise certificates in December, CR is extending the sail by date to 5/30/16.

 

I also book directly with CR, like to have control over my bookings.

 

I am currently on the Grandeur and received a certificate for outside cabin but the dates for the selection only goes up to May 16th. If I choose to apply itto another cruise it is worth $750 but I must cruise before May 1st.

Maybe something changed because I know I didn't earn that many points. It may be a factor that we were on a 5-night cruise, so perhaps the thresholds were lowered.

That makes sense as this was an 8 night which turned into a 9 night cruise. Last night the hostess gave me a new certificate for a balcony cruise certificate and the dates went out to may 31.

Thank you Linda it works ...also it very interesting to these of us who has cash cash rebate that we need to use as a cash by March or apply to cruise fare until end of the year.

Yesterday I booke my cruise and was able to split it for my October cruise. I don't care whar category cabin I am sailing bec always closing casino -- I took inside cabin and remaining amout will get on board as a cash. BUUUTTTT its in one condition --- when you call CR representative cannot do it for oyu they need to ask for supervisor.

 

and another thing I never asked but CR representaive out of the blue saying that we will be able to give you a free cruise in June for Black Jack tournament on Oasis or Slot tourament on Frredom ...do you want to go here there everywhere....What I am thinking MAYBE now its a good time and they are trying to sign us up before new / better program started ???? When you call I think it worth to ask if they can do something for you :)

Still nothing on the new program?

 

I talked to Josh at CR and he didn't deny that instead of rebates, they may be giving OBC, similar to the "resort credit" you would get on a land based casino. So while its true cash rebates are going away, these could turn into OBCS instead. That's just MY guess...

Here is part of an email I received from Club Royale the end of January/2016, I was told the new program would come into play at the end of March/2016.

 

 

"We will be launching an all-new, fully transparent, casino loyalty program that articulates our positioning as the best casino loyalty program at sea. This will present our ability to rival land-based casino programs and offer a variety of benefits to enhance both the onboard cruise and casino experience.

 

The new program will focus on enhanced rewards structure for a better onboard experience with tiered onboard benefits to include: priority services, monetary rewards, and prestige/recognition.

 

There will be tier levels with ascending point thresholds to achieve. These tiers will drive the onboard benefits our members are entitled to.

 

We do not have a “list” of complimentary cruises for 2016 for our members. Under the new program structure, invitations to Club Royale event sailings, complimentary cruise offers, etc., will be sent out as the offers become available. We would encourage you to contact us by phone to see if there are any current offers available to you."
