Rare sns1 Posted August 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2015 What is the best way to get to the safari from the cruise port? Should we do it on our own or cruise tour? It seems like its quite a ways from the port.
CruiserBruce Posted August 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2015 It is quite a ways from the port. I would rent a car, or take the excursion.
sassyredhat Posted August 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Honestly, I would take the ships tour. Our traffic here rivals that of LA. Depending on what day your ship is here, and what time it leaves, you could get lucky--or not. On my way to the Dr. last Thurs., at 9:30 AM all the north freeways were still at a crawl. YubaSutter Posted August 8, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2015 We did the safari on our last cruise from San Diego. We got off the ship early and rented a car for the day. Drove to the safari and returned car at the end of the day. Took the rental car shuttle to the airport and flew home.

Donder1 Posted September 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2015 We are on the fence about this excursion. Is it really worth it? There seem to be a lot of additional costs once into the park.
