Will Carnival and Princess loyalty programs ever merge?

I keep hoping they'll merge like RCI/Celebrity--even MSC will Loyalty Match and they're not under the Carnival Corp. umbrella.

Msc has new ships to fill that's why they are doing it especially since they hold 5000+ passengers.

Carnival has been talking about a new loyalty program for years but lately talk has died down.

 

At this point do not see it ever happening but would thnk that as cruisers get tired of the Caribbean, Carnival corp would want to keep them in the family.

FYI If you book an MSC Cruise they will HONOR your current Status Level from ANY other cruise line. When I hit Platinum next year I'm considering booking MSC Seaside. Incidentally I don't see the issue with cross branding perks. Hilton Honors and Hyatt and Holiday Inn does it. it's really just an IT issue

I will reach Platinum with Carnival in November when I take a 14 days Journeys cruise. After that, I would consider trying a different line, since I don't foresee reaching Diamond status in my lifetime. I will still do occasional cruises, but since I no longer have a reachable goal, I can try other lines. If one of CCL's other lines offer a few perks it might keep me in the fold.
