gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #151 Share Posted August 15, 2015 You are spot on with this observation. Serenity was nice but not enough shade in the Jacuzzi. we went early in the morning before it got too hot (it was also less crowded then Indeed, there were a few times that I noticed it was not crowded. I think I got a picture on the last day. But the people seemed to be dying under the sun there.
gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #152 Share Posted August 15, 2015 I booked on the Carnival Vista. For us it is cheaper because hotels in Europe generally don't hold a family of 4 and the food feels like it is free on a cruise. Lol... Still a lot of money so we will see if we actually go. I would really love to try it out, but not sure if I can swing it. We shall see, nothing is written in stone :). Maybe ill have to wait until she gets here to south Florida. tlw3184 Posted August 15, 2015 #153 Share Posted August 15, 2015 Let's talk Internet and WI-FI. I bought the Value Plan. I have to say that is going to become a selling point for me on Carnival. The connection is pretty stable for most of the cruise. It only gets slow during peak times, but overall it is a killer service for $40 dollar. You can also disconnect one device and connect another one. I know many people say, that you should enjoy the cruise and disconnect yourself. Nonetheless, quite honestly, it is all about personal predilection. I am a blogger by heart, and having internet access is a must. In addition to that, mom is always in contact with her family, and this service makes everything very convenient. We were able to use apps like WhatsApp, weather, Facebook, chrome, utility apps and such. Just keep in mind that you won’t be able to make phone calls from voip apps. They have a blocking wall that drops the calls, for calls you have to buy the premium plan. I will say it one more time. This plan is KILLER!!! I LOVED IT!!! I am not even sure how much this would cost on other lines. I know RCCL had an unlimited plan a few months back, but that was mad expensive. Carnival has really done something amazing here, and the best part is that they will deploy the plan fleet wide soon. Just to add, coverage throughout the ship is great. It is so good that the signal reached Half Moon Cay! If you’re a digital connected person, this is a must, and it is mad affordable. One more thing, you can also upgrade easily. There are options, and you only pay for the remainder of the days if you upgrade halfway through the cruise. The Casino. None of us won big this time. Sorry about some blurry pictures, I messed up and brought the wrong lens. I promise it gets better. I am so glad to hear about this. I will be leaving three weeks from today on Carnival Conquest. I have been going back and forth trying to decide if the new internet plan was worth it, especially for those prices. I agree this is a personal preference on being either connected or disconnected when it comes to this. Thank you for the info, I will definitely be using one of these plans on my 8 day cruise. One thing I was wondering was how good the connection would be in the middle of no where and you answered that! Thanks again for this helpful info! cruzinlady1947 Posted August 15, 2015 #154 Share Posted August 15, 2015 I was away all day yesterday, but did check Facebook and noticed you had started your review, but WOW, never realized it would almost be on page 9 this morning. At least I got to catch up on it non-stop for a while. Pictures are just amazing, as usual. I so love your reviews and I'm always so happy to read them and see all your photos. Also happy you are including your photo as well. You are very handsome! Now, I can get a little work done until I come back here to see the next installment. Keep up the great work. We all appreciate you doing this for our enjoyment. gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #155 Share Posted August 15, 2015 Soon enough, it was time for muster. I usually go early and wait for all the people who get there late. To be honest, I am sick and tired of waiting, so this time around, we waited until Ruben came to the room and got us out. I know that I am adding to the problem, but every other time I am just there standing in that overwhelming heat. And yes, it was boiling hot that day, even with clouds and all. Ironically, when we got there we still had to wait about 10 more minutes before it started. By the way, no one checked us in, so in theory the is no count system other than the click thingy that the muster operators carry. Muster was relatively quick, and somewhat organized. I still ask myself what would happen in the case of an emergency. So many people packed together, in panic… Dear Lord, better not to even think of that. Yes, I managed to get the picture =), I know, I know, I shouldn't have =). I just can't help it. Pictures serve me as a visual memory. After muster was done, we went to our room to see the sail away. I specifically chose the room on the port side, to have the view of the Miami Marina when leaving port. I think is our very first port cabin ever! In our balcony, we noticed a storm building up in the distanced. I actually posted something on a social network, and I was told that John Heald had posted that Miami ships might be late to depart due to the storm. That storm was really building up, kind of scary. You could see it in my aunts faces, that they wondered if we would sail like this. And there I was praying that the captain would depart in the middle of the storm to get some rocking and rolling in motion :D
gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #156 Share Posted August 15, 2015 GoPro GoPro It was one nasty storm! Fortunately the Captain decided to go ahead and depart port at our given time. I was quite happy about that, since I wanted to leave port for stated reasons. Here are our bubucelas, or noise makers! GoPro
gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #157 Share Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) A funny side note, on our MSC Divina cruise my uncle blew the horn on my aunt's ear and she almost killed him. Those things are incredibly loud!! Here is the old picture. Back to the review, we were just having a blast. gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #158 Share Posted August 15, 2015 Blowing the horns at the yachts below. I don't really know what was the point since no one answered back. The rain really did a little number that day =( The Glory in the distance
gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #159 Share Posted August 15, 2015 What a mess that these ships make on the sea floor. Anyone interested in snorkeling? If you think I shoot a lot of pictures, you have not met my uncle. I think he could easily double the amount of pictures that shoot in each cruise. And then he will loose the memory cards tsk tsk tsk...

The kid on the right, in the muster photo, with the white t-shirt. His face is PRICELESS. 2. AMAZING pictures of that storm brewing over Miami. SCARY looking, but AMAZING pictures. Kudos! gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #167 Share Posted August 15, 2015 The safe is kind of annoying because it only works with one card of the stateroom. We decided to use my mom’s card, since neither my uncle nor I wanted that responsibility. Then we decided to head out for dinner. We stopped by the girls room and the room was already setup with the rollaway bed and everything. Ain't it cute? My uncle was ready to hit the avenue! :D
gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #168 Share Posted August 15, 2015 Most of our bags had arrived already, but my uncle’s bag was missing. We decided to go and inquire about it. On our way there we stopped by the taste bar.

gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #170 Share Posted August 15, 2015 It was pretty good. I think it was pulled pork and tomato bisque? I posted the pic of the items above. gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #171 Share Posted August 15, 2015 And lo and behold, Wala, the bag was there with a few other bags. Happy uncle! I wanted to inquire about the room key for my uncle, but the line was substantial. So we decide to go and have dinner and check it out later on.
