vwrestler171 Posted August 15, 2015 #102 Share Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) I wonder when her drydock is due, there is certainly much work to be done. I never used the TV, but I can completely see how this could be an annoying issue. Quite honestly, I rarely used my tv, mainly because the sound and picture quality was absolutely horrible. Well, that and I had no time to watch it :D I think Victory was just recently in dry dock. Earlier this year, I believe. Seeing that ship makes me remember my first cruise on Destiny. Same issue with the piano bar being tucked in the back enclosed. Glad to see another review from you. gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #106 Share Posted August 15, 2015 I think Victory was just recently in dry dock. Earlier this year, I believe. Seeing that ship makes me remember my first cruise on Destiny. Same issue with the piano bar being tucked in the back enclosed. Glad to see another review from you. I wonder what they did to it on dry dock. Mom did notice that the carpets were very clean new looking. But other than that nothing really stood out. Then again the ship is 15 years old, and still looking quite good. Nice to see you here :)

gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #111 Share Posted August 15, 2015 Keep in mind mostly everything is on deck 5. The other decks like 4 and 3 do not have connecting corridors. It took me a few times to learn the system. I think this is the first vessel that only has one full deck of bars and venues that connects from bow to stern. It is not a big deal, but just something to note. What we used to do is that we walked from the aft of deck 6 to the lobby area and then take the elevator there to deck 3 and such. gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #112 Share Posted August 15, 2015 Let's talk Internet and WI-FI. I bought the Value Plan. I have to say that is going to become a selling point for me on Carnival. The connection is pretty stable for most of the cruise. It only gets slow during peak times, but overall it is a killer service for $40 dollar. You can also disconnect one device and connect another one. I know many people say, that you should enjoy the cruise and disconnect yourself. Nonetheless, quite honestly, it is all about personal predilection. I am a blogger by heart, and having internet access is a must. In addition to that, mom is always in contact with her family, and this service makes everything very convenient. We were able to use apps like WhatsApp, weather, Facebook, chrome, utility apps and such. Just keep in mind that you won’t be able to make phone calls from voip apps. They have a blocking wall that drops the calls, for calls you have to buy the premium plan. I will say it one more time. This plan is KILLER!!! I LOVED IT!!! I am not even sure how much this would cost on other lines. I know RCCL had an unlimited plan a few months back, but that was mad expensive. Carnival has really done something amazing here, and the best part is that they will deploy the plan fleet wide soon. Just to add, coverage throughout the ship is great. It is so good that the signal reached Half Moon Cay! If you’re a digital connected person, this is a must, and it is mad affordable. One more thing, you can also upgrade easily. There are options, and you only pay for the remainder of the days if you upgrade halfway through the cruise. The Casino. None of us won big this time. Sorry about some blurry pictures, I messed up and brought the wrong lens. I promise it gets better.

gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #114 Share Posted August 15, 2015 I am not sure what he was trying to do there  This seems to be a very popular area of the ship.
gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #115 Share Posted August 15, 2015 The elevator service aboard this ship is excellent! There is almost no waiting ever! The only time we experienced issues was when getting off the ship in Grand Turk. They also have a sports bar with an Xbox console. The bar seemed pretty nice, but I am not much of a sports person, so we never visited. I wish this decor pattern would follow throughout the ship. gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #116 Share Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) Believe it or not, I know almost nothing about soccer. The ironic thing is that I was actually a pretty good goalie in high school, but I hated it! It actually reminds me of the sports bar aboard MSC Divina. Next to the sports bar is the main store with all the Carnival gear and the duty free liquor. I was actually going to skip buying the cruise model, mainly because the collection is getting expensive to keep up with. But mom refused to allow that happen, and she bought it for me on the last day. I believe it was $32, and it is really nice. It is actually taller than my Breeze model. And super white, these models tend to stain and get yellowish. I’ve been thinking about putting them in a solution with some mild bleach to clean them out? Anyone? Just scared that they will get screwed up. Maybe I can try with the worst one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated =) Edited August 15, 2015 by gambee
gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #117 Share Posted August 15, 2015 Going into the theater. They have some nice art throughout the ship, well not all of it. But for the most part is nice. I could see myself owning a few of the samples, well if I had the money that is :D They had more colorful ones around the ship.
gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #118 Share Posted August 15, 2015 The theater is nice, a good amount of seating, although I did see fully packed a few times. Although the decor seems to travel into the theater. There are very few venues were it does not reflect. By the way, before I forget. Most public restrooms have a little paper dispenser to use on the handle when exiting the facilities. I loved that. I usually have to grab some from the faucet area to do this. They even have the little garbage by the door, although it gets full quickly.
Newbie Cruiser 2010 Posted August 15, 2015 #119 Share Posted August 15, 2015 Absolutely loving your review. You do the BEST reviews. Victory was my 2nd ship I ever cruised on. Sailed on her out of San Juan and did the South Caribbean 7 night cruise in 2011. Looking back at my photos now I realized that I took almost no photos of the interior of the ship. Concentrated on the ports......I was learning back then. So I am absolutely loving all your interior shots. I have a comment about the underwater Olympus TG-2 camera. I have the same camera and when on my Quantum cruise is April it was cloudy the day we went snorkeling. I somehow ended up with the flash set to on. Photos turned out terrible as all I was getting was flash in the water. Sad lesson learned as it was turtles.....thank goodness I had my GoPro and got some video also. Anxiously awaiting more of your review. Think I will go read one of our other reviews over as I await updates to this one. Again, thank you for your wonderful reviews. gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #121 Share Posted August 15, 2015 We then decided to hit the spa for a tour. We went through the lobby one more time. The spa is just ok. It lacks the pool and heated lounges. Keep in mind that the steam room and sauna are FREE!!! The only catch is that they are not unisex. I like talking to mom when in these places, so we did not go. But nonetheless they are free for everyone to use. The Spa tour is unlike any other spa tour I’ve been on. It is usual that they try to make a sale on the tour, but this was different. They pushed it like I’ve never experienced. The tour was also much longer than the usual tour, and you were not allowed to go on your own. Well, it is not like I had known where to go anyway. As a matter of fact, that appeared to be a trend on the ship. SALES, SALES, SALES!!! I'll get into it later on.

gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #123 Share Posted August 15, 2015 This treatment was supposed to take an inch of you by the end of it. I truly wonder if it is true, maybe they just sweat the crap out of you, and just walk out there completely dehydrated, and there is your inch :D, LoL. Sorry, just my humor. She looked like a mummy in there, and would not flinch for anything. Another presentation, I think it was about haircuts.
INCHARGE Posted August 15, 2015 #124 Share Posted August 15, 2015 You're so cute!!!! :D I second that!!! You are a cutie-pie! Your uncle is too funny. Love the casino picture with his crazy glasses on. Lol Is it my imagination, or did somebody go "GREEN CRAZY" on this ship?????? Dang, is there a rhyme or reason to it, ie: Emerald of the Sea or something? :D
gambee Posted August 15, 2015 Author #125 Share Posted August 15, 2015 They also had a teeth whitening process. I was actually interested in this one since I am in the process of doing it. So far I am progressing a lot, and teeth are considerably whiter, but there is still room for improvement. I am still half way, so I am sure I will get the desired color once it is over. Carnival’s product is said to be different and uses light instead of peroxide. She argued that it was painless and you would see improvement right after the treatment. It is just my personal observation, that any process that whitens in one application leaves in so much pain that you can’t eat or drink for days (done it once and never again). I was not about to experience that on my cruise, especially considering that I had halted my treatment 2 days prior the cruise just to have no pain at all. In addition to that, it was around $250. She also handed free samples for people to use, but then she says, "the product is useless without the light". Then what is the is the point? LoL. And there was my uncle applying it thinking he would have whiter teeth in minutes :D. Kind of funny if you ask me . She said it was so you could get used to the base product that works with the light. It is kind of funny, because each representative finished their spiel with this “You better book fast because I only have 2 slots open…..) Ummmmmm yeah, sure, I am one of the first people to go on the tour and you’re all sold out but 2 time slots  These chairs were lovely, and the view was even better.
