pezzers10 Posted September 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2015 Hi forum I know this is a long way ahead but just wondered if:- Cabins We have booked a deluxe cabin on deck 6 7 or 8. Just wondered if any one had any personal preference or advice on cabin nos. Has anyone stayed in 114 or 115 on deck 7, if so is there any noise from lift at all and is it a good size. Ports Calling at Lisbon,Cadiz,Portimao,Gibralter,Casablanca. Has any one been to these and any info on what to do. We do tend to do our own thing if possible, but unable to walk too far due to 'dodgy knees'. We may possibly do hop on/hop off buses if available. Many thanks Jackie

WeeCountyMan Posted September 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) We may possibly do hop on/hop off buses if available. We used the City Sightseeing HoHo bus in Lisbon - great way to get around. http://www.city-sightseeing.com/tours/portugal/lisbon.htm Try discount code MATALAN20 for a 20% discount - although it may be expired now. PS - it just worked for me on a ghost booking, hopefully it'll work on City Sightseeing prices elsewhere. Malch_uk Posted September 8, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2015 Been in 053 a couple of times which is above 115. Huge cabin and very quiet. No noise from lift or stairs. Our favourite cabin on Spirit & Celebration. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
Julessmiles Posted September 8, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2015 We had a fantastic day in Lisbon recently - we took a TUk Tuk trip & saw loads! It's such a busy city with traffic everywhere, it really was the best thing to do & it was nice to be 'outside' & not cooped up on a coach - highly recommended! campolady Posted September 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) We had an excellent day - despite the rain! - in Lisbon in November. Just jumped on the first tram we saw (think San Francisco type transport) and went wherever it took us. Driver was brilliant - kept pointing places out we would never have known about and even stopped at his favourite cake shop to get his lunch and asked if we would like to try anything. Cost very little and highly recommended. Cadiz is very pedestrian friendly so easy to do by yourselves - this is the only place I would not recommend the HOHO bus as it cannot get down any of the narrow streets in the old town so the ride wasn't over interesting. In Gibraltar you can easily walk to Main Street and do the 2 hour minibus trip up the Rock if you want the tyoical tourist day. Far better value, and more interesting IMO, is to take the local bus to Europa Point. If you decide to walk up Main Street - a fair walk from the cruise terminal so either wear comfortable shoes or take a taxi - have a loos round the Kings Chapel on Main Street (look closely for the entrance as the chapel is accessed down a short flight of stairs) - sadly missed by most visitors this is a very interesting military church. Remember that in shops and bars etc. any change you are given will probably be in Gibraltarian Pounds which are not legal tender in the UK - if you have some small change to get rid of there is usually someone collecting for local charities outside the Morrisons supermarket (Morrisons cafeteria is also one of the best value places for lunch in Gib but don't expect food prices to be cheap there). CRUISIN LINDA Posted September 8, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 8, 2015 I would recommend the Thomson trip to Rabat from Casablanca. It is a lovely city and much nicer than Casablanca itself. Portamao - you can get a taxi into the town itself which is quite a small place or visit Praia de Rocha, both places very close.
