nolagirljh Posted October 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2015 Sorry if this question has been asked. How hot are the aft balconies? We will be traveling July 4th and were just wondering if it was like the solarium. Are the aft balconies private like the other balconies or can people look down onto yours. We would have our son is the walk from the elevators long? We are currently booked in a D1 on level 9. PLease any impute will be so helpful. setsail Posted October 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) 7708 is on deck 7, you say you are on deck 9, which one? The sun on a balcony has to do with the position the ship is traveling and if its cloudy and time of day Edited October 15, 2015 by setsail
racerxspeedy Posted October 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2015 Any balcony can be too hot with the sun directly on it. Deck 9 and 10 aft could have more sun and be hotter than 7708 under the same conditions. 7708 should have good ventilation and is mostly shaded. TexCruise371 Posted October 16, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 16, 2015 We have stayed in 7408 on the opposite corner and we loved it. Yes, it's a pretty good walk. Actually, the balcony is huge and partially a wrap around with the big porthole on the side. It is also fairly well covered and pretty private as far as from above. :D

Rare APDMOM Posted October 16, 2015 #9 Share Posted October 16, 2015 Having been in this balcony cabin on FOS and IOS (sisters of Liberty), I would recommend this balcony and take it in a heartbeat. In fact, we book our cruises early so that we can get one of them. You can see many pictures and tips in my Indy review. The balcony is absolutely worth the walk! I also found it to be very private. Only when you stand by the rail can you see other people or balconies. Click on the link to see pictures. Review of the cabin starts in post number 9: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2014636
Rare APDMOM Posted October 16, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 16, 2015 Is the motion really bad? No. We felt no more motion in the cabin on Freedom than on the rest of the ship. We did feel some engine vibration on Indy - nothing that made us feel sick, though. DH is more prone to seasickness and he never had a problem on Indy or FOS. Here are a couple of pictures, if you don't want to link to the review:
