Hotel suggestions Miami port with shuttles

We need to find a hotel near the Miami Port that has shuttle service to the port. We will be cruising on Reflection.

Hi there -

 

We have a wonderful Florida board where this question is answered almost daily. In short, no hotel near the pier will shuttle you for free - if they did, that's all they would be doing all weekend long. Please don't get hung up on the idea of a shuttle, as a cab to the Port of Miami is a very reasonable $12 or $15. Choose a hotel in a safe area where there is something to do.

 

Here is the Florida board; right on the first page I can see many threads about Miami hotels. :)

If the hotel is just for overnight, the best option is an Airport based hotel which has a free shuttle. Try Fairfield Inn & Suites, they have free shuttle from airport and offer a Shuttle Service to the port but costs $12/pp. Better to take a taxi from the hotel to the port as costs about the same for couple - $25 to $ 30.

We used uber last year. Cheaper than cab and much better cars. About half price vs cab. Airport to hotel was $14, cab would have been $30 with tip ($25 zone fare plus $5 tip). I think hotel to port was $6 from downtown.

For sure use the Florida departures board.

Too, if you add more info there..date, budget, number of cruisers, time of arrival etc. you will get all kinds of specific advice. There are some decent areas and some sketchy places. Need to be aware.
