Parking at Canaveral

Hello all, I have an upcoming cruise on the Valor and I'm trying to find the best parking that might be available but I'm not sure where the ship is going to be docked at the port. I see on a map that Carnival locations are CT5, 6 and 10 but no mention on which of these are home to the Valor? Does anyone know anything about this? I'm disabled and walking long distances is a little tough for me so I'm trying to get as close as possible. Thanks

Why not park at an offsite facility and let them shuttle you to the port? We used Go Port Canaveral with success. There are many others as well.

Parking off site is about 1/2 of parking at the port. Check Park & Cruise and Park Port Canaveral.

Also Port Canaveral charges you for the day you enter and the day you leave, so for a 7 day cruise you will be payng for eight days......

Thanks for the off site parking advice to save costs but I do have a Florida Toll Permit which allows for free parking at cruise terminals and airports so cost isn't my main concern. Are there some sort of signs at the port that show you where your particular boat is located? I've never been there before and I'm sure to get lost or go the wrong way or even enter some place I'm not supposed to be. I'm also looking for an address to put in my GPS to help find the place.

Regardless of whether they use pier 6, or pier 10, there is parking, at either one of 'em. Also, if they leave from pier 6, and return to pier 10, or vice versa, they supply a shuttle to take you to your car. Should be no problem. Just look for the ship when you arrive, and park at the nearest parking garage to the pier in use. ;) Unfortunately, it's quite a long walk from either garage, to the ship.

Thanks sky for the info, I was not planning on using a wheelchair or scooter because of the hassle with loading and unloading and getting around crowds in general and had hopes of parking close enough to hobble along with my cane. It sounds like there is no assigned parking for the Valor if it can leave one terminal and come back to another one. Guess I'll just be driving in circles till I can find the boat or a sign and find a parking spot close by.

Graz, can't say for sure of course but seems like I usually see Valor at CT10 on the webcams. There is signage but it is very easy to see the individual ships as you get close to the port area and figure out where she is docked.

We're on her for our fourth time in April.

By the way, I have a good friend that lives in Panama City. One of these days we might get there.:D

Grazz, my wife is in Panama City while I'm in Jacksonville, and we'll be on the Sunshine next month. We're planning on heading to Port Canaveral from PC and will be taking advantage of a hotel stay and cruise where we park at the hotel and take a shuttle to the cruise port. I also travel in a wheelchair (due to extended standing in lines) and hobble around on the cane when I can. That may be your best bet at Port Canaveral.

Are you talking about the Sun Pass or E-pass? I know you can park at the airport with those passes but Im almost positive the Port does not accept those passes.

As far as getting there, there are digital signs as you drive towards the Port on 528 that tell you exactly where to go.

Don't worry! I was super impressed at Port Canaveral. There are signs and employees everywhere directing you where to go. It would be really hard to mess up, unless you were trying. If you don't know what to do when you get there, just roll down the window and the friendly folks will help you. They really have their act together at Port Canaveral.

No SunPass at Port Canaveral like we have at some airports...

There are electronic signs along the 528 that guide you to the proper terminal. The closest parking is the port parking. Just follow the signs. It will most likely be one of the newer terminals on the north side of the port. They tend to only use the old casino boat terminal on the south side for the smaller ships as an overflow terminal.

We used Park & Cruise last time we sailed from Port Canaveral. It was about half the price, and their service was great. If you want to get on the boat as early as possible, I would not recommend them. They can't let the people in for the cruise that's leaving until the lot has cleared out from the people getting off of the boat that day. If you want to get on the boat as early as possible, it may be worth it to pay the extra and park at the port. If you're not in a rush the Park & Cruise is a great deal.

The Valor now leaves and returns to terminal 10. It only used two different terminals when RCI was still using 10 for the Freedom OTS. RCI now has their new terminal open.

The parking garage and a surface lot are adjacent to terminal 10.

You can drop your luggage and drive to the surface lot and it is a small (less than 100 yards) walk to the terminal.

I could unlock my car from the deck of the ship so I could watch for the lights and remember where I parked.

Port Canaveral terminal 10 is the easiest and most convenient parking you are going to find anywhere.

Thanks everyone, I had a good email exchange with the people at the port and they also told me the Valor will be at terminal 10. I think I've got everything mapped out now on where to go unless they throw some kind of roadwork with lots of cones in my way and detours (Florida is famous for that stuff).
