Sailing with baby on Sapphire Princess

Hi All, we are travelling with extended family on the Sapphire Princess for my mothers 70th birthday in January. In our balcony cabin will be our 8 year old son & 12 month old baby. I am concerned about the type of cot/crib they will provide for my 12 month old - the only notification I have so far is "portable crib" I am hoping for a more traditional crib as he is not the most flexible baby. Also we have been told that we will need to have twin beds rather than a queen. I have been on the Star before & I am trying to work out where they would place the crib in the cabin & if there is any way of blocking it off from us - hanging a curtain of some sort etc. Has anyone put the crib in the wardrobe part of the cabin? The only problem I see here if it fits is that anyone going to the bathroom will wake the baby. Was your crib already set up & ready to go upon boarding? I'm starting to panic so if anyone has any tips or photos to share I would really appreciate it. In fact Any baby related tips on the Sapphire would be appreciated also. We tried to see if we could switch to a mini suite & unfortunately they are all booked out. TIA

It's been a couple years since we were on this ship but at night you might be able to put the crib in the area where the bathroom/closet it (our room was sort of L shaped with an area that might be able to hold the crib there but otherwise not sure where they would put it that will be able to closed off or out of the way.

Good luck and have fun

Cruise ships don't have your traditional cribs, but Pack N Play beds. If you're just in a regular size cabin, there wouldn't be a place to put one of those bigger traditional cribs without blocking access to parts of your cabin. You might want to consider bringing your own sheets for the Pack N Play. You will also have to bring everything with you for the baby, as they won't sell them on the ship. So that means diapers, wipes and all the rest. You might also want to talk to your baby's doctor about any medications you should bring, as the ship's medical center isn't set up for taking care of infants.

Babies are not allowed in any pools or hot tubs, so you might want to bring a very small blow up pool for the baby. Have you decided how you're going to bathe the baby? No tubs in balcony cabins and the sink is much too small.
