chandon Posted December 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Greetings, Our multigenerational family is looking for a Thanksgiving cruise to the Panama Canal. Our youngest members will be 5 and 8 so a kids club is imperative. Does anyone have any thoughts on which ship might be a better fit? We cruise annually with RCCL so are used to their programs. Thank you, Jane Berg
cb at sea Posted December 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2015 I think it's an "either/or" thing....the kids clubs will be pretty similar to RCI....age groupings and activities... I would go with the ship that gives you the itinerary you want......if there's a difference in your other ports!
Kamloops50 Posted December 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Are doing a full or partial transit ? If full I would chose Princess . If partial it would be a toss up.
chandon Posted December 26, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted December 26, 2015 We will just do a partial as we are limited in the time we can be away. Thank you, Jane
BillB48 Posted December 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2015 (edited) While I can't vouch for the accuracy of what I was told... that NCL stopped providing destination lecturers awhile back. On a Canal cruise this would be a major drawback to me. On the other hand Princess still provides this service. I am sure NCL would bring on someone in Panama to provide a narration during your partial transit, but having someone to provide lectures on the Canal while you are en route would be a big plus to me. Perhaps check with a roll call group of a recent NCL partial transit cruise and see if they can give you some up to date info. Don't have any info on the children's programs on either line. Rare Keith1010 Posted December 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2015 I would study the ship diagrams and also read reviews. I would also look at the itineraries. Keith
