Clam Shell at GSC

We are thinking of renting a clam shell on GSC on our cruise in March. Does anyone know if this gives us a priority tender? There are 5 in our family (all in one cabin), but we will probably only book one shell, as the kids wouldn't use it, would we get the priority tender for all 5 of us?

Also, can this be booked in advance, or does it have to be booked onboard.

Many thanks

What was the fee for the clam shell? How early on in the cruise does this need to be booked? Is this like the Vibe beach pass where you practically have to run to the desk to get a coveted slot or can it be booked leisurely?

Clamshells are considered an Excursion so they need to be reserved at the Excursion Desk not the Guest Services Desk. They aren't as popular as the Vibe but you still want to reserve early on the first day so you get the beach you want.

They are $30 for one clamshell but in that clamshell there are two loungers. You choose what location (Bacardi Beach (main), Cabana Beach, or Lagoon) and when you get there an attendant will set it up for you. Make sure to ask for a "mesh" clamshell (the normal clamshell is completely enclosed and can get super hot and stuffy.... getting one with a mesh panel allows for air to circulate).

You will receive priority tender and there is no problem with the kids tagging along... however, $30 is not a lot of money to give them the protection from the sun for the additional clamshell.
