steelhead1 Posted January 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2016 We just received an email from Princess that they are doing a progressive check in on our Jan 24th cruise on the Carribean Princess. We are in a balcony cabin on the Baja deck and they are showing boarding for Baja deck as 2:30, Last to board. Is this something new? Has anyone experienced this? We are Platinum, so does priority boarding preclude us from this boarding schedule?
floridalover5623 Posted January 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2016 It's only a suggestion. Follow it if you want but most people just show up as they please.
damiross Posted January 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2016 We're on the Grand on March 26. Our progressive check in for the Baja deck is 1 p.m. Wonder if they are experimenting with different ways of doing check in.
DebJ14 Posted January 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2016 We have gotten that e-mail prior to every Princess cruise out of Houston for the last 3 years. On the non-fog cruises we arrived around 10:45am and they started Elite/Suite boarding at 11:30am.

We are Platinum, so does priority boarding preclude us from this boarding schedule? Normally this would be a suggestion however...... With all the problems with the CB and weather it would be best to keep an eye on the arrival of the CB to make sure the cruise is not delayed. imo
ChrisRobinson Posted January 12, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2016 Platinum trumps Progressive Check in. Board when you'd like through platinum.
moki'smommy Posted January 12, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2016 Get up in the morning and check these boards and/or the port cam to see if the ship is there. If so, go to port at your convenience. If the ship is not in, wait till you get info from Princess about how long the delay will be. Trust me, sitting there all day is BAD. Do not go to the port till the ship is docked. After it docks, it will be about 3 hours before they are ready to board.
Rare Woobstr112G Posted January 12, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2016 Gotta love the staggered boarding. I think most cruisers ignore the suggested times......:):):) Bob
easyboy Posted January 12, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 12, 2016 It is their intent to shorten the line, but will not turn you away for check-in when already in line.
