4:10pm - just had that awful sinking feeling that this will inevitably come to an end.

This sail away experience is unbelievable.

This review has been great. Getting me through my week, until I board Saturday.

I was pretty shocked that they charge for lobster in the main dining room, when other lines include it. I'm starting to worry about the nickel and dime everyone refers to.

One other thing noticed while waking along the pier today. Even though it's an older ship, apparently the Spirit advertises more inclusive spa treatments.

I once saw a boat named "Happy Ending". I wonder what would happen if it got near the Escape.:D

I boarded with UBP, SDP4, prepaid gratuities and $0 on onboard credit. I've been spending freely all week - eager to try all that's offered. Quite honestly, I'm spending more than normal because of the fun I'm having with this thread.

I just popped open iConcierge, and on Day 5 my current balance is $159.30 - this includes the $79 charge for tomorrow's tour.

Let's not open a debate about it in this thread - but from my perspective, I've had a huge return on my investment.

I panicked during the Miami sail away when I lost cell coverage and switched to the ship's wifi, as it was then that I realized NCL was blocking the tinypic app (which was used prior to sail away). I tried several other similar apps - all blocked.

My on-the-spot & panicked decision - to download the "ImageSize" app, which allows you to resize your photos locally on the phone, greatly reducing the file size before praying that the ship's wifi is happy happy enough to upload it.

The app has worked great, and I'm sure there are many more out there, some of which may even be more suitable.

So I take a shot, jump into ImageSize, reduce it, jump into the CruiseCritic forum app, import the reduced file, then go! Utilizing the original, full-sized files would have been near impossible.

When I get home, I'll be interested to access the thread using my typical devices to see how the photos have come across. I'm hoping much isn't getting lost with the reductions.

If CruiseCritic wanted to encourage more live threads, an app-embedded image reducer would be an interesting enhancement.

Thanks so much! Going to give it a shot!

The group is talking ship motion. It can really be felt here. We agree - it feels like the top of a domed Jello mold. More of a wiggle than anything else. It feels mechanically induced rather than in response to sea conditions. Has anyone speculated on a balancing issue?

Originally we had inside rooms about 4 decks above our current location at Cagney's. I wonder if they're being rocked to sleep at night...

You review has been great and very informative! We are going on the Escape in July and have the drink and dining package. Question about the dining - do you happen to know if there are still charges to dine if you have the package? We are supposed to have 4 dinners in the dining package.

When I go on the Dawn in November, if Sue allows me to go "live", I may have to walk around the ship with one of those lights. The food would photograph amazingly well under them!

Hope the food porn is coming across okay., as it's rather dim in this spot. That's my new thing. - scoping tablecloths for the brightest spot from above.
