shoppe@carolina.rr.com Posted February 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2016 We are taking the 15 day cruise from Stockholm and were interested in tours of Berlin. Is anyone taking this cruise and interested in a day tour? Not sure what the ship will offer yet since it has not been posted.
English Voyager Posted February 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2016 Viking's website does list the available tours: http://www.vikingcruises.co.uk/oceans/cruise-destinations/baltic/viking-homelands/index.html#itineraryday/9 Bear in mind that the journey time from Warnemunde to Berlin, assuming no delays, is approximately 2.5 hours each way. How much of Berlin can one see in 6-7 hours? We always preferred to spend our time in Warnemunde, which is an attractive seaside resort. Or take the local train into Rostock. wripro Posted February 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2016 First, you should try posting on the roll call thread, not the luxury line thread since there you will find people on you specific cruise. If there's no roll call start one. Second, Viking is not a luxury line.

English Voyager Posted March 27, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2016 What makes you say Viking is not a luxury cruise line? Douglas Ward, in his Berlitz Guide, classifies the Viking Star as 'Premium' ( 4+* ).
Travelcat2 Posted April 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Agree with last poster. Viking Ocean, Azamara and Oceania are not luxury cruise lines. While Viking has the newest ships of the three "premium plus" cruise lines, the experience that they advertise on board is less than what you will find on Crystal, Regent, Seabourn or Silversea. This does not mean that you won't have a great experience, just not the same as on a luxury cruise line.

Many would disagree with you and Douglas ward about whether Viking is luxury.
