Thanks for your review. I always enjoy reading reviews of the cruises we take as they bring back great memories. The islands on this cruise were awesome. We had been to all the islands, except Bonaire, so we mostly did water activities rather than island tours as we had already done those. In Aruba and Bonaire, we ported from 8 am to 11 pm which was awesome. Bonaire was the one new port and we had time to do the Woodwind snorkel excursion and Bonaire Vista Island tour. Woodwind Snorkel was the best snorkel tour we have ever done. In Curacao, we did Irie Tours 5 hour West End Beach Hopping Tour. Three memberrs of our group chose to do the cliff jumping. Since we are in our 60's, we thought it was safer to pass that up. LOL. In St. Lucia, we did Spencer Ambrose Jealousie (Sugar) Beach excursion. We had snorkeled between the Pitons for a brief time on a previous visit to St. Lucia and wanted more snorkeling time this visit so this tour was a good choice for us. The 21 day cruise was an awesome cruise that included less frequently visited islands. San Juan and St. Marteen were the only 2 islands where we just walked around and did things close to port. The only downside to visiting so many islands was the amount of money spent on excursions. We did 2 Carnival excursions and the rest were private excursions we booked after reading reviews on the CC port of call boards.

Thank you for your review I enjoyed seeing so much of your food pics and the best I’ve seen on here. And thank you for being as honest about the food as to the negative side. Some reviews will not say anything bad about Carnival and to the point the food was BRILLIANT and not express the bad side that some have seen.

I have seen your disappointment with lobsters on the ships many times, nothing like being from New England for seafood and also Canada were I was born.

I can’t wait for your next review. :)

Thanks.

Overall, the food was consistently good on this trip. In fact, I found the dining room to be the most consistent of any cruise I've taken and that's pretty amazing considering this wasn't a standard 7 night cruise but a special 11/10 night itinerary. Much of my "negatives" truly were just things I personally prefer - like more vegetables, spicier, etc. There were one or two things that weren't "Brilliant" (i.e the Italian wedding soup) though I think those things were the exception, not the rule.

I have bad luck with lobster tails on all cruises - my absolute worst one was on a Disney cruise - I took it out of the shell and it literally melted like ice on the plate (like - whoosh, it was a gloopy, watery mess). After mentioning it to our server, I was served a perfect one so I guess the lesson for me is "speak up".

Thanks for adding these.

For us, excursions are such a small part of our cruise costs. The lack of available wheelchair accessible tours (and ones that are truly accessible - no steps into a bus, no uneven broken pavement) means most of the time, we just walk around the port area, do a bit of shopping, maybe try a (non-alcoholic) beverage and then head back to the ship.

We did a great island tour in Aruba in March and one in Panama, but this time, none of the islands were calling to us. A big part of that was the docks the ship ported at. Many of them made us feel less than certain about just grabbing a taxi to go exploring.

I've really enjoyed your reviews and pictures. I took notes!

Did you go to any shows or comedy?

Very few - 80's pop to the max and one of the special journey's show (it was a 50s thing). Most nights were spent either at the Dive In Movies (second movie) or the casino. We also spent a fair number of evenings listening to the band in the Red Frog Pub (though we would generally sit in the Piazza Lounge outside the Pub due to crowds) or just hanging out back in the cabin.

My parents aren't really late night people and late nights was a nice time for me to unwind and watch a movie in my cabin or play computer games.

We never made it to the comedy club. I am not a big fan trying to find a wheelchair spot in the butterflies lounge.

This is so rude, I noticed you did this several times. It is rude to others because it makes the review go on more pages and it is rude to the reviewer to interject like this.

Ummm....you do realize that you are responding to a post from March of last year?!?
