Colo Cruiser Posted February 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Will Princess apply OBC to the tip charges ? OBC is on your shipboard account. Gratuities are charged to your account. Charges to your account use up the OBC.
Pam in CA Posted February 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) Your onboard folio is a simple debit/credit system. If you have OBC, it's line item listed on your folio and totaled for credit. It's combinable. Anything charged to your folio is deducted from the credit (tips, excursions, t-shirts, drinks/beverages, specialty restaurant, etc.) until there is a balance due. GUT2407 Posted February 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2016 To the best of my knowledge the only thing you can't use it for is to book another cruise (including FCCs).
SRQfireman Posted February 28, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2016 casino charges also go on your portfolio......so how does the system know what to deduct and not deduct? i.e......most OBC's you get specify they can't be used in the casino......so I'm sure a lot of people on here have seen how that works. So far the onboard accounting system only takes any OBC and applies it to any onboard charge no matter what the source is until the OPBC is used up. That could change in the future. SRQfireman Posted February 28, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2016 That's what I thought, but there's always these disclaimers about not being able to be used for the casino....my guess is that they're trying to get you to not go this route, but in reality that $$ you take out is coming out of that same pot of $$. Anybody experience this first hand recently?
