NCL Breakaway 02/28 question?

Just at airport on way home after a week on BA which was our first cruise. We loved it but the experience was slightly marred by the number of kids on board is this usual for the BA or did we hit unlucky with Canadian school holidays?

I found that there were more children than adults in many areas throughout the ship, they were even at 'adult' themed shows despite the warnings given by the crew, and at the Howling piano at 23.00hrs they were reminded that the show was going to get adult - and still parents had their young (some in night clothes) running around the seats. It was my first cruise so I too don't know if it's a normal feature, it's a family ship so I expected families, just not the amount and with no refuge as adult areas and times were not respected. I too would value the experience of others who have been on this and other lines as next cruise I would like a rest!

French Canadians!!! I complained several times about the kids running around spice h20 and in the adult pool! I will not book this week again!

Canadian Spring Break (elementary school) is March 13-20...must be kids from somewhere else...

Definitely half the ship or more were French Canadians many with kids

This sailing was full of kids on break from French Canadian schools. Even the daily announcement was in English and then in French. The parents let their kids run wild most days. They had kids at the lounge bars playing loud games and running throughout the casino, day and night. Most of them just pushed their way onto already full elevators. Not the fault of NCL, but next time I will do more research and I will never book this week again!

There were 4,545 passengers on the ship. 2,188 were French Canadian. It was school vacation last week for them [emoji4].

 

I had an amazing time and hope you did also.

I always have to laugh. Kids on vacation how dare they enjoy themselves on a family vacation!!!

I have no problem with children enjoying themselves while on vacation with their families. I do have an issue with parents that turn a blind eye and a deaf ear while their children are running and yelling in areas of the ship that are clearly not kid friendly. A smokey and crowded casino is not a safe or appropriate place for kids. A bar at 9:30 in the evening is not an appropriate place for cranky loud children to be, while others are trying to enjoy the entertainment and atmosphere. In spite of the lack of manners and the rude behavior these people exhibited, I had a wonderful time on my vacation! The Haven was a perfect retreat!

Ahhh...must be from Montreal. .. Ontario kids are off after next week... and nyc kids, the following... no escape

I'm just off the BA too and there were a lot of French Canadian kids but the only place I really saw them being a problem in were the hot tubs. Every single time I walked by the hot tubs they were all full with small children. I was also surprised by how many were at the late showing of "Rock of Ages".

I will never book a cruise this week again unruly French canadien kids(Brats) were everywhere NCL did not enforce adult only areas. Kids even at Rock of Ages show what kind of parent brings their kid to that???? My post cruise survey will definitely include my complaint of lack of enforcement of adult areas. The French Canadian did not make a good impression on me this trip to be sure. Watch your kids!!!!

I have been on 10 cruises and this was by far the worst as far as kids go. I guess parents on this ship didn't feel obligated to WATCH their kids
