Question about the route taken from Barcelona to Naples

We are booked on NCL Epic in October for a 7-night Med cruise out of Barcelona. The first port is Naples, Italy.

 

I was looking at a map and just got to wondering....might the route between the two cities sail between the islands of Corsica and Sardinia?

 

Back in 2007, on a Med cruise, the ship passed between Sicily and the toe of Italy's boot, which was kind of cool, to me. Even if I haven't physically stepped foot in such places, I can say I have SEEN Sicily, and I have SEEN the Rock of Gibraltar, and I have SEEN Morocco. ;)

 

I wouldn't mind being able to say I have seen Corsica and Sardinia!

 

Anyone that's been on this cruise know the answer to this?

Yes, it goes through there. It's usually around lunchtime on the sea day. That's why the captain never attends the cruise critic meet and great on that cruise.

It's a highlight of that itinerary for sure. I'd recommend getting a table in the Garden Café all the way forward. Great views of both sides of the strait.

Yes, we always have lunch in the buffet on the sea day for that reason.

But we have sailed the Epic before....on a trans-Atlantic in 2014. Didn't LOVE the ship, but still had a wonderful time!

Our itinerary went through in the opposite direction between Naples and Majorca. Watched the Sardinian coast slip by from a treadmill in the fitness center.

I will be on the 17th April sailing and had been wondering the same thing. I have been to Sardinia and Corsica - they are really great Med cruise stops, but despite that I wondered if we would see them. I will look out at lunch time.
