Easy to find bus routes?

Hi! We plan on spending the morning in St. George and then taking the bus to the Crystal Caves. I see we can take buses #1, #3, #10 and #11. Is it easy to find the appropriate bus stops around St. George?

Yes, it is easy to find the bus stop in St George. It is located on York St in front of the the East End Variety. Find St Peter's Church on York St, put it on your right side, and start walking. The bus stop is about 5 or 6 buildings on your left.

All the buses routes stop at the same bus stops on Duke of York Street. Get a map at the Visitors Information Center at the Dockyard or in St. George. Or ask directions at the Info center located off the Town Square. The stops are marked in the Town of St George sub map. There are maps usually also in the cruise ship terminal. Also the excursion desk, guest relations desk on you ship may have the pocket maps.

The bus stops in Bermuda are marked by pink or blue poles along the side of the roads. The blue poles are routes going away from Hamilton and the pink poles are on routes going towards Hamilton. Hamilton is the central switching bus station. All of the routes start or end at that bus station. The easy way I have to remember the color codes is that the "blue poles blow away from Hamilton". It is sometimes easy to get confused because, in Bermuda, they drive on the opposite side of the road as we do here in the US. That is something that always takes me a while to get use to. The local buses are very easy to navigate around Bermuda on and the drivers are very helpful. If you know you want to get off at, for instance, Gibbs lighthouse, you get onto the bus, say "Good Morning" to the driver and ask to be let off at the stop for Gibbs Lighthouse. The driver will call out your stop when it is approaching. As you exit the bus, thank the driver and everyone will be happy. Manners are very important in Bermuda. Even the school children say please and thank you and they give their seats up for an older person. It is very refreshing to see the respect they display most of the time. If they forget, an older person will remind them.

The #6 doesn't start or end in Hamilton. It runs between St. George's and St. Davids, with two versions of the route, one of which takes you to Clearwater Beach.
