Discharge papers

Recommended Posts

I have had to show my retired ID card for military rate cruises on RCI.

Despite the fact that there are some who post that they didn't have to show proof if you choose not to bring it be prepared to pay full fare at the rate on the day of the cruise. I have been on several cruises that had a military discount.

I literally just requested a copy of my DD-214 a few months ago (I'm sure I have my original somewhere but it's been 32 years and I have no idea where I put it lol) and all they send you is photocopy anyway.

I received a photocopy but it was embossed with a raised seal "National Archives and Records Administration"

We have received military discount on more than one cruise and DH has never been asked to show proof. We always carry it with us and he also has his VA ID card. I too always check all applicable discounts, sometimes you win and sometimes not. They do not always appear at time of booking. I check every now and then and somtimes, bingo. Happy Sails To All
