I never experienced a sewer smell. Which is something I was worried about as well. We were in cabin 1325 Riviera Deck and had no issues. My cabin steward was beyond incredible. He remembered our names and went above and beyond to satisfy us.

As far as food, the dining room was amazing. We had steak and lobster on elegant night, and it was superb. You do have to pay a $20 surcharge for lobster, but well worth it. The desert offering was to die for.

Our dinner servers were very good as well. Remember you can order as much as you would like at Dinner. No problem at all. The dancing waiters were so much fun.

The buffet on the Lido deck was a little disappointing though. The quality just wasn't up to par at lunch. We had breakfast at the buffet and it was pretty good, hash browns were stiff though. The omelette stations were very good. Lines do get long. Remember omelettes have to cook so that counts for long lines. If you are an early riser, that's the best time to get to breakfast. Beat the crowds.

The pizza station at the aft pool was so good as well as the grill station by the lido pool. Burgers were very tasty and properly cooked.

Overall, our experience on Victory was very good. I would go again tomorrow if I could.

Lots of fun things to do, staff was very professional and helpful. The artic night club was a blast. The serenity adult retreat was a very welcome spot away from the hundreds of children onboard. And the bartenders pour heavy and will get you drunk real quick.

Good comedy acts, karaoke was hilarious and I totally stole the show at the hairy chest contest on last sea day. Marcelo was our cruise director and he is great.

I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our cruise.

Check out the love and marriage game on the last sea day. Absolutely hilarious. They pick the newest couple, the longest married couple and a couple that has been married about half as long aa the longest married couple. Lots of fun. I don't gamble, so I couldn't tell you a thing about the casino action.

Remember, things do happen and yoi have to take some things with a grain of salt. If you go to relax and have a good time you will. If you going to be pampered, you may be disappointed.

You must do the poolside movie one night. Very relaxing. Kanisha is one of the best staffers onboard. She is so much fun and will do her best to.make sure you have fun.

If you can avoid guest services, please do. That is by far the worst experience. Lines tend to get very long and move very slow. Especially on final day when folks want to dispute charges because they overspent.

I hope I was helpful and I hope you enjoy yourself. We had a ball !!

Thank you so much for your comments they were very helpful. We have cruised Carnival for a while now and will continue to do so. My only concern was that people kept on mentioning the sewer smell other than that I know we will have a great time. Glad you guys had fun. If you haven't been on the Magic try and sail that ship is it amazing.... As far as breakfast my husband is a very early riser usually he will be in line waiting for the omelette station to open.... He say that a cruise vacation is to enjoy the ship not sleep the entire time.... We will be going for his birthday, we sail Sept 8th than in Dec 8th we will be doing the Valor...

We watched Daddy's Home. I don't remember the other movies playing. As that was the only one we stopped long enough to watch. But it happened by accident as we were just passing thru the pool area or should I say stumbling thru from.partying so hard.

LOL

As far as events, make sure to catch the new Serenity Nights party in the serenity retreat. Great great fun.

Elegant night is the second night on a 3 day cruise, but everyone doesn't comply and that's fine..tell your co worker there will be photographers at every turn taking pictures. Elegant night pictures were the best for us. Thw come to your table and take pics as well on elegant night.

I should work for Carnival because I got nothing but rave reviews for how our experience went.

I will be on Valor in December for a holiday cruise with my teenagers and cruising carnival Dream in April for a specialty cruise. I think I'm hooked on cruising

LOL

A week ago I did the Thurs-Sun cruise. The movies were: The Intern, Daddy's Home, Captain America: Civil War, The Jungle Book, Deadpool, Kung Fu Panda 3 and Zootopia.

Thanks for the info, also have you heard about a Electric White Dress party.

MACUQUI58, I see in the Fun Times listed for Friday (day of Nassau) there is listed at 11:30pm an Electric White Night (18+) in the Artic Nightclub.

I was also on the 8th deck and do remember a faint smell at times in the hallway. It was not so pungent that we couldn't stand it but it was there.

On our 4 day victory cruise in July the electric white dress party was in the nightclub on the same night as elegant night. I didn't know about it beforehand but it just happened that the dress I packed for elegant night was white and that's the night we checked out the nightclub. It was fun. They handed out glow bracelets and sold shots in light up shot glasses.

We were on victory mid July. We did not notice any sewer smell around the ship, except for a slight smell in the washrooms by the lobby area. But honestly is a normal "boat head" smell. I've been on many small private boats in my life and it's a normal smell that comes from the toilets. It's really not that offensive and I only noticed it in that one spot.

I'm wondering if people who complained of smells have sensitive sense of smell? Or maybe the ship was doing something with the holding tanks at the time that caused the smell?
