The indoor pool in the Solarium on the Infinity is a heated Thalassotherapy pool, so it should be great for the cooler temps. Not sure on the outdoor pool, though. Enjoy!

We just got off the Infinity 2 weeks ago on the Alaska run. Didn't swim in the outdoor pools but saw a number of kids in it. The indoor pool was very warm, slightly less than a typical hot tub temperature. It's also salt water with seats and therapy bubbles to relax you. We loved soaking in there. On our cruise it was adults only except 4 -7 pm when it was family time. Enjoy :D

DH thinks the outdoor pool is filled with cleaned sea water. After a volley ball game where they lowered the water level, they filled the pool back up afterwards and he said the water was quite cold, colder than the water had been before the game.

It is not cleaned. It is straight sea water pumped into the pool. During our equator crossing on the Infinity, the ship hosted a party at the pool with crew members and some guests covered in sticky food products and then forced to "walk the plank" into the pool. After the event, the pool was drained, hosed down, and refilled. A crew member told me it was straight sea water. No filtration of any kind.

The pools onboard are saltwater. The water is drawn from the sea and is kept at a comfortable temperature between 60 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. When the ships are in Alaska steam is added to the pools to make the water warmer.

  • 3 weeks later...

Back from our 7 day Vancouver to San Francisco Infinity Cruise. The pools are indeed nicely heated & enjoyed. The indoor covered spa salt water pool was very warm but not quite hot tub temperatures. The outdoor main salt water pool was nice but I only swam there once as it would have been very cool when you get out due to cool outside temperatures ...but I guess one could jump straight into one of the outdoor hot tubs after a swim.
