Carribean Cruise On Azura In November

We are off on our first fly cruise in November and we're both getting really excited. Just have a couple of questions:

 

Can anyone tell which jabs they had for these islands? I am finding conflicting information. We have booked to see our nurse but will be interested to see what people have already had.

 

Also I know this might sound a bit daft but when we go swimming what do we do with our things, especially our cruise cards? I am concerned that one of us will need to sit on the beach with everything while the other goes in the sea. What has everyone done.

There are no required jabs, I have been three times and going again in December without any. I did get bitten by mozzies last time but that was my fault for not using repellant.

 

The cruise card question is the same as it would be on any beach really, leave it with friends or go one at a time.

Hi, we didn't have any jabs for the Caribbean. It was about 3 years ago, but I don't think any of the islands needs anything. Trinidad and Tobago might need yellow fever, but you might not be going there.

 

Didn't go to the beach, wanted to see the islands. We took private tours which are much less expensive and far fewer people. Private tour in Barbados, Glory Tours, was excellent, we saw the whole island then swam with the turtles.

We have been to the Caribbean several times and no jabs are required.

The only jabs required are yellow fever if you are stopping at Trinidad and you intend going outside Port of Spain, no jabs are required for Tobago.

this might sound silly but when me and the wife want a swim together we dont go far from the sun lounger on the beach and i bury our cruise cards or a very small bag that we put them in under the sun lounger then if a passing thief wanted them (why would they anyway) they are not going to start digging are they. a friend of ours (dennis) tucked his down his swim trunks and on returning to the security barrier had lost it in the sea. he managed to contact the ship and got back on no bother.:)

We went on our first cruise last year too. As regards the cruise cards etc, we bought a waterproof money belt off the internet and it works very well.

As for the jabs I think as long as your tetanus is up to date nothing else is required, but best to check with your nurse.

Have a lovely cruise, we are on the Britannia in November in the Caribbean too, can't wait :)

We're flying out to Azura on 11th November. Very excited. Nervous about the flight but been having hypnotherapy so should be ok. Fingers crossed. Time will tell I guess

I've never had jabs for Caribbean cruises. In general, I've never been off the beaten track - just stayed in the port or gone on excursions. I think it's more necessary if you are staying for several days on the island and exploring the more remote areas.

Cruise cards don't get damaged by water - so they go swimming with me. A little waterproof pouch holds cash.

We are going to the Caribbean this November and have bought some water proof bags/pouches from Amazon they were about £6-8 for two, the smaller ones that fit a phone etc go round your neck and the larger ones go round your waist and these say you can fit in an ipad mini etc, we have followed the instruction (yes I know a man reading the instructions) and tried them in the sink and they are water tight. Can't say any more as to how well they will stand up to the job but they do seem to get a good review on Amazon:)
