I also never cash mine out, as I find it more valuable to use it for hotel rooms. So far this year I have booked 5 rooms with points and each would have cost me around $250, so I am getting 2.5% instead of the 1.0%.

Yes, in this case to Hyatt. I have two upcoming reservations in Fort Lauderdale for 8,000 points and the current room rate is well over $200 each. I would stay at the hotel anyway, so it is a true savings to me.

 

A couple of months ago (late August) I stayed in the Boston area for 3 nights for 24,000 points totally. Would have cost over $700 otherwise.

I booked a few using their travel website and I've transferred points for flights to partners-- so odd but it never occurred to me to check about transferring to hotel partners!! Duh...

My son got RT to Kauai for 25k points on Delta flight, booked through Korean air. I think they would have been about $1000 with cash.
