Carnival conquest or Norwegian sky? HELP

Forgive me if I am on the wrong area to ask this.

Hubby & I cruise out of Florida (any port) every Jan 29 to mid Feb.

We both love the food, the ppl and the BEACH

We do not do well in too much heat unless at the beach.

We love half moon cay, turks,

Have been to keys, coz, Caymans, PR, ST toms few times.

Have not been to DOM or Aruba or curacao

We do not do excursions.

I like the ships with a outdoor movie screen.

With that said, can anyone give me advice about

Conquest out of fort laud FEB 4th , for 8 nights? One Cruise for our vacay

I am looking at the sunshine, elation, sensation, victory (previously on)

So main question is: what are peoples thoughts of the conquest.

One longer cruise, or 2 shorter cruises?

And what did you think of Amber cove Dominican?

One more question Norwegian Sky 4 nights great strup cay free drinks?

I booked our flight, early, and it went down in price, we are Canadian, so our money is low, I lost over $170, got the rental, but I am STUCK with picking this cruise. I can tell you every cruise that carnival has in this time frame.

I have gone on 2 forums a garage one and a truck one, and everyone was so helpful. And also right too. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much, I see your point, and I appreciate that you liked it but would not repeat it. I heard that there was a lot of puking on the sky because of open bar. I do not think I would over indulge, but it is nice to be served a drink. I do feel the extra tip for the drinks would not be worth our while.

Thank you very much :)

Well, NCL doesn't go to Half Moon Cay, and probably not to Grand Turk. If that helps.

Otherwise I would be checking the review section.

I find myself in a situation where I have over thunk it.

list of needs

1. NO bunk beds

2. fridge in room '

3. outdoor screen

4. serenity deck *conquest lacks one

5. guys burger joint

6. Nice port departure (not Miami so busy(

7. Itinerary (something new, like Aruba and curacao and dom

8. Low price lol

I find when I pick one, I loose the other one I like, for example

I would like the conquest out of Tampa, dom, Turks curacao and Aruba (which it does have) for less than 1700 which is what it is now preferably leaving on January 29 or 30th. *it leaves on feb 4 out of fort laud.

I think typing out all this has helped and the two kind ppl that have posted your thoughts, have also helped.

thank you a lot. :)

The Conquest is a great ship. My husband and I did a 9 day B2B on her this summer (a 5 day followed by a 4 day). Honestly, I like longer 7 day cruises better. The problem with two short ones is that the shows and the MDR menus repeat.

Thank you so much

I agree with longer than 2 shorter, you only have to go through the boarding process and de-boarding once.

And different ports and shows.

The one other thing about the conquest is I wander why it does not have a serenity deck on it?

The specific one feb 4 for 8 nights out of fort laud. dom Turks Aruba curacao

the price has lowered since the first time I seen it.

It is funny cuz it is the first one I picked 2 months ago, but continued to research.

I also have not been to any of these ports cept turks *which I love, and never been on the conquest. So it is def. looking like the one.

thanks again so much.

Having cruised on Norwegian Sky twice in the past four months (3 night and 4 night), we did not observe anyone 'puking' as a result of the open bar. Maybe spring break, but that's not uncommon on a lot of ships, or so I've heard (if it's on the internet, it must be true?). The open bar makes this cruise an excellent value, IMHO.

The 3 night cruises was mostly locals enjoying a long weekend and more of a party atmosphere, whereas the 4 night cruise we just returned from was mostly out-of-area visitors (many from out of the US, enjoying a quick cruise as part of a longer S Florida vacation).

If you're looking for 'big ship' amenities, it's not for you. No water slides, no climbing walls, no ice skating rinks, no shopping malls. If you're looking for a quick, relaxing, fun getaway for a few days, it's a great choice.

I've cruised Sky and a ship very similar to Conquest (Liberty). I'm a little confused by your question. Are you already locked into one of these cruises or are you trying to find cruises in a time frame for which you have flights locked in?

I ask because there are so many more and better choices if you're willing to do a full 8 days. Why not consider RCI's Enchantment of the Seas, which I would pick over either of those 2 on a short cruise, or any of the longer cruises on a new ship like Norwegian Escape or an RCI Oasis Class ship?

But if it must be Conquest or Sky, I'd stay on Conquest. Sky is a certain "never again" ship for me. I just found it to be too cheap feeling and the rooms too uncomfortable.

Thank you Paul

Very informative

We were on the Liberty/sensation/fascination/paradise/victory/valour/sunshine/estasy/glory/

I think that is 9 carnival cruises.

What I love about cruising

Is no one asks us to drive. ever.

You never starve on a cruise

I love the beach

The outdoor movie screen, the shows. the ppl.

The serenity deck.

We have never gone on another cruise line.

We arrive in Fl January 28 and we leave Feb 19th. I have 5 nights at the Marriott in points. And then cocoa beach for some a few hotel stays and beach, but want to do ONE or two cruises. I need to pick the first cruise so I can plan the rest of the time there. I have just overthink it.

I am def. gonna look at the ship you mentioned.

Thank you again, as no sailing is booked yet. :)

Thank you very much, good info, you are right spring brake, but we are def there before that, so I am going to look at sky and the other one Paul mentioned. If you get this, let me know how the drinks were, and which ones you liked.

thank you so much

Norwegian Sky, The McDonalds of Cruising IMHO!

Well it is a good job I love md ds lol

When I began the research I should have left Norwegian off the list, as it goes out of Miami, I should have left all out of Miami off the list, I did not and forgot, how pricey the hotels are.

Where it went so low in price, I thought, heck with it, so I booked it, paid for it with my cc card so I get the points.

It will be interesting to see what it is like being served a drink.

I probably messed up, but we will make the best of it and at least it will be warm and no snow. lol

thank you.

Thank you so much, I already booked the sky, and last year I tried to book it for that open bar thing, but the booking agent said it did not count if you booked less than 30 days before cruise, so we did two carnivals, sunshine and fascination.

This time the lady I spoke to said there is no amount of days to book that this is included. However, I have not received an email about the cruise, and they took the money off the visa. My husband checked and paid it on line.

And I def think I am booking the conquest out of fort laud on feb 4

It goes to places we have never been.

I really appreciate the advice and confirmation that the conquest would have been better than sky, but you have been on sky and if I get to do both then all the better. We are so lucky to have this time together that it is all what we make of it, and both my husband and I have a weird crazy sense of humor.

ty so much
